Does IOWA finally have the right mix of Wide Receivers AND Tight Ends?

Yes, they do. Going the FCS route on positions where we have struggled with recruiting in the past, and with players that had produced very early in their careers, was a brilliant move. Do you think there is any way they would have been as successful trying to recruit Power 4 WR’s? The answer...

What poster has the best inside info?

I am not an insider. I did tell everyone not to sleep on Evan James back in April. With that, I’ll take my cookie please.

Phil Parker: “I don’t know if I want to sit there & play (against) our offense every week.”

Norm Parker always said the first thing was “you must stop the run”. If we take a significant decline in that area, it will not bode well for how we play Defense. Hopefully the new guys continue to improve and are up for the challenge.

    Receivers

I wonder how many of the posts in this thread pertain to the Receivers? I’m not gonna count them up, but I do wonder

How do you think ISU football will be next year?

They will start off the season as a bad team, but will show improvement as it progresses.

Iowa hires former Iowa QB and Colt's OC Tom Moore as Senior Consultant to the Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator

Considering their recent hires? I’d take that as a good sign for us. You pull a George Costanza and do the opposite of whatever Nebraska thinks.

    TONY DIAZ!!!

Diaz, James, and RVZ and a QB that can get them the ball. Definitely looking forward to this season.

Iowa hires former Iowa QB and Colt's OC Tom Moore as Senior Consultant to the Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator

Sure is a lot of stupid in this thread. I’m sure Tampa Bay, Tennessee, and Arizona were all just doing him a solid hiring him in his 70’s and 80’s recently too, right. Because that’s what is most important to NFL teams, taking care of old coaches that bring nothing to the table, winning be damned.

    Coop at the Kentucky Derby

Hate to see Coop going through such rough times recently, hopefully things improve for the poor chap in 2026

Iowa vs Washington - Friday night game

I know everyone was tracking the record of teams that were traveling two time zones 2-3 years ago and it wasn’t good for the travelers. Does anyone know if the stat stayed similar the following year or two?

Who was your favorite KO/PR in the last 20 years?

Would have to dig deeper to totally confirm, but Wetjen’s 2025 season may be the best in all of college football for combined average of both punt and kick returns in a single season.

Who was your favorite KO/PR in the last 20 years?

Going back as far as 1977, there was 1 other player that averaged over 25 yards per both punt and kick returns n a single season. Robert Woods of Grambling State in 1977. However, Wetjen is the only player going as far back as 1976 that averaged over 26 yards in both in a single season.

Who was your favorite KO/PR in the last 20 years?

Wetjen’s 25’ season was incredible. Makes me wonder if anyone else in College Football has averaged over 25 yds per return in both Punt and Kick Returns before?
