I’m afraid with the crazy 4 year extension that Tanner gave Paris for one tourney on top of his 2 years remaining on his contract that we might be stuck. If USC parts ways with Paris at end of the year USC will owe Paris 16 million dollars. Tanner did us no favors.
Unfortunately, the rumors us commoners here about being a country club over there, and taking care of their heard at our expense must be correct. Seriously considering to no longer pay fees and buy tickets, and just be the best fan I can from my bonus room.
Tanner did us no favors by extending Paris for 4 years after making one tourney. If we were to part ways at the end of the season I believe we would owe Paris $16 million dollars. Unfortunately, Beamer situation is similar. No way should our BOT allowed Tanner to make these buyouts. By the way...
This is what you get with a Dawn Staley team. Probably played our poorest game in a couple years in Norman, only to follow up with domination (so far) against a top 5 opponent. If we continue at this pace we will be a tuff out for any team including Geno’s crew.
I was a kid during the McGuire era, I was in the Coliseum when Brian Winters hit the winning basket in 1974 to beat Marquette. Paris is a class act and if we have to part ways at the end of the year I would wish him only the best. Interesting to see who Donati would bring in for his first big hire.
Amazing how times change. Use to be it was about having as many fans in the stadium as you could get. Now it’s about corporate sky boxes for the elite, which I understand the mighty dollar wins out. Regardless if contracts to loyal fans are thrown out. I guess it’s the price of keeping up, even...
Just hard to fathom a school with our facilities, resources, and fan support has made only 6 tournaments in the last 50 years. As long as I can remember I’ve always heard issues are with our BOT’s priorities, which seems to be generational.
