    Gorriaran Trivia

Rickie Stewart, I know he pinned Dave Schultz in the finals off a fireman's carry I believe. If you pinned Schultz you might have pinned several other wrestlers.

Well that just speaks more highly of Sergio because usually big weight cutters are inconsistent in their performance but not Vega. He was undefeated and never gave up a takedown. Tremendous discipline to accomplish that season especially for a true freshman. Also, he beat a 2- time champ that...

I agree that Dee was in that front headlock position and James moved to the left, pulled his left arm out and over Dee's back and he did not react at all. I was stunned that he gave away his position with no resistance. Also I am now thinking we have another National Championship wrestler in...

It is sort of strange but when I look at the 20 and under team and the 23 and under team, I think that the 20 and Under team would easily beat the older team in a dual. I think Spratley would win for the 23's but they might win only 1 or 2 more matches maybe. Landon wins easily and I think...

I watched Troy, Casey, Sheets, Guerrero and Berge win by tech in the 1st round of 23 and Under Team Trials.

You are right that James is going to be a problem for most everybody and maybe even push Messinbrink. The not separating maybe wasn't the bad sign but losing his lead in 2 out of 2 matches late was a bad sign. Ladarion can still be the best. But the last 3 months has brought about questions...

I like the adjustments that Dreshaun made after being teched. He would not allow Merrill to push him, he used heavy hands and quickness in finding angles to push Merrill out of bounds after getting on Merrill's legs. Merrill got real tired and then Dreshaun got takedown with go behinds and leg...

White is powerful and explosive, 1 of his takedowns was like a running back running over a safety. He is so inexperienced, but his potential is unlimited. Dreshaun was lacking aggression, in the first period but then dominated the 2nd period. Hodgins can appear strong 1 moment on offense but...

Ramirez lost 3 to 2 giving up a takedown with few seconds. Ronnie's problem was he did not score any offensive points he was ahead on 2 passivity points and tried to just hold on. You could see Ronnie getting in worse and worse positions until he gave up the takedown against Burnett.

Hodgins did wrestle Waters tough, which I am real glad to see. Ross pinned Bechtold in 1st period. I also saw where the guy who teched White pushed Mantanona to 13 to 13 criteria. He must be a freestyle expert. Dee and Rutledge both won and will be squaring off against each other.

Holman appeared very out of shape and had a lead but lost it and as I have said our biggest worry with Holman is if he will pin himself and he did.

I have to admit that was very disappointing but could be tied to lack of freestyle experience. White lost 10 to 0 with 1 series of head pinches and gut wrenches. Not a great start for White but he only has 1 direction to go.

I checked and it appeared to me he did not have any opponent in Flow's top 20.

Micheal White wrestled for Team Shutt this weekend for National duals and won 9 matches out of 9. Most matches he was dominant, but a couple matches he seemed to struggle but still won and 1 match he got ridden the 90 seconds 2nd period and could not stand up. Still impressive and I am glad he...

If you are going to shove a guys face in the mat after the whistle you think you would be smart enough not to turn around and not face your opponent afterwards. Lots of bad moves in that 5 seconds.
