Jeremy Hecklinski WILL START at Minnesota. LJ Phillips is good to go (from the Oct 20 Player Interviews & KF Press Conference).

Maybe. But they had 7 sacks against Williams and Washington. I presume mostly from their D-Line, but don't know for certain. Iowa had 5 sacks, same QB same team, but all 5 from Linebackers, whose soul purpose looked to me as to not let Williams run, and when he stayed in the pocket too long...

    Mid-Season Musings

Special Teams has been pretty solid for sure. Looks like we're set there for awhile. James has been pretty good with punt returns (1 muff I think, but we recovered?). Not as good as we're used to, but that's asking a lot. Jackson is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. Keep him...

*** Official Saturday Big Ten Games Thread ***

That was one of the easiest calls for pass interference in the history of Football, and the Ref's didn't have the balls to make it. I'm glad Notre Dame lost, and they still would have had to score on the next play, but they got screwed in that situation. Hell of an entertaining game though...

Burroughs asked about coaching at Iowa

Agreed, I think Jason Nolf would be a great hire, and do it for Tom's salary..............😉

    Mo no mo

He wrestled 7 matches, 3 of those against All-Americans. Was 2-1 in those matches. Not bad. 6-1 in his first crack at D1 College Wrestling. Not bad. And he realistically beat eventual 2026 NCAA Finalist Merrill on his home mat to clinch the dual that beat Oklahoma State. The fact is he had...

Question: Do college athletes have to be enrolled in classes anymore?

Don't recall where I saw it, but I saw an article somewhere about Hank Brown saying he did indeed attend summer classes at Auburn, which put him ahead of the curve to graduate early. I don't recall that article getting into particulars why he chose to do that, if there was a Football angle to...

Looking for Hawkeyes in All the Wrong Places

To this day, I believe Billy Sims was the best running back I've ever seen. He was so fun to watch. Injuries derailed him in College and the NFL, but he was doing some extraordinary things when healthy. Won the Heisman as a junior at Oklahoma, then runner-up to Charles White his senior...

Clem Haskins stamp of approval. 😉

    Projected Iowa at Minnesota Line

Used to be called Kinnick North, or the Metrodome. Take your pick I guess. 🙂 But fortunately they don't play in a Dome anymore, micro or otherwise.

Matt Campbell and the PSU Cyclones

True. They had a VERY favorable Big Ten schedule, and a clear road to the CFP.............until they didn't. That would have certainly helped his recruiting down the road to make the CFP in his first year. I think one of the major factors is the Big Ten actually plays Defense, and Campbell is...

    Hank or Heck?

I don't think either is going to wow anybody on a consistent basis. At Iowa it matters a lot more who can hit a wide open receiver on a check down. Based on just the last 2 games that clearly favors Hecklinski. Neither guy has proven themselves as a runner. Gronowski was obviously great at it...

    Washington Marching Band

Indeed, that is Awesome! Another pretty cool event, shockingly from the NFL but.............The Packers had a moment of silence @ Lambeau before the game in honor of Bears legend Mike Ditka. Didn't see that one coming, but nice gesture from the Pack organization.

    Other games thread.

Lots of really good Football today and tonight, highly competitive games all over the place. And the Hawks with the hay in the barn prior to all of it. 🙂 Purdue ran for over 300 yards against the Gopher's. Not what I expected to see in a Purdue game. But, that should give the Hawks some hope up...

    Other games thread.

24-17 Sooners with 10 minutes left. Definitely didn't see that one coming. Lot of time left however.

Yesterday we saw footballs flying through the air...

I can tell you what happens right now. We got boatraced IN KINNICK (held our own for a bit but.......). On a neutral field, expect more of the same, or worse. Unless you think Iowa has somehow reinvented itself in Kirk's 100th year at the helm. I don't. But, they have to play the game, and...
