The actual NOA will list "multiple sports." UNC PR will go after the fact that MBB was not specifically named (although biggest offender amongst "multiple sports"). However, the "Factual Information" that is attached to the end of the NOA is full of MBB references. Regarding the "Factual...

Agreed. It is impractical to make a ton of students retake classes once they have embarked on their professional careers. However, the fact remains that UNC used the fake classes for a disproportionate number of athletes. UNC violated its own policy for those athletes. UNC used those fake...

UNC's solution to "making whole" the fraudulent degrees was to supposedly send letters to every AFAM Major and offer them to ability to retake the bogus classes as real classes....tuition-free. However, the degree remain in tact whether or not anyone took UNC up on the offer to retake classes...

SACS made it very clear that UNC had "make whole" the degrees resulting from fraudulent classes. UNC's response was that the transcripts were sealed and could not be altered. Thus, we're left with UNC not making whole the degrees as SACS mandated.

It is well-documented that Summer sessions were primarily filled with bogus classes. Whether it be Summer, Fall, or Spring... UNC athletes were being kept "eligible" based on fraudulent classes. Based on the three leaked transcripts that we have...bogus classes were absolutely applied in order...

The Wainstein Report was intended to be another whitewash....just like the Martin Report. Wainstein was supposed to put this scandal to rest. However, once Wainstein got busy and saw just how f'ed up the mess was...he decided to salvage his professional reputation...and essentially stab UNC in...

Just a reminder... in order to receive financial aid and be eligible for NCAA competition, athletes MUST be a full-time student actively making progress toward degree. If those conditions are not met....ineligible. The overwhelming majority of revenue athletes only take the minimum...

This is how you know Roy knew. Roy said he was concerned by the clustering of his athletes in those classes, so he put a stop to it. However, UNC disguised all of those classes as legit lecture courses. If those courses were indeed legit lecture courses as UNC made them appear...Roy had no...

I am making an educated speculative guess that UNC releases the NOA to the public by the end of the day on May 27. I certainly hope it's sooner.

Memorial Day weekend was pure speculation based on timing of when UNC would receive the NOA, a Board meeting could be conducted, and then released to the public. Given UNC's history...Friday heading into Memorial Day weekend fits.

I fully expect the NCAA to go nuclear on UNC with the punishments...and UNC has built a mega-dollar legal team in preparation to fight it. My question is this....is UNC simply stockpiling an arsenal of top lawyers in hope that it intimidates the NCAA somehow? I cannot fathom a situation where...

For those who are still doubtful of meaningful punishment... The NCAA is alleging the span of 1989-2011 to be full of ineligible athletes based on multiple reasons. The NCAA is not going to allege such things if it plans on slapping UNC on the wrist.
