OT: The official ACC all things thread

I can give you several Billion reasons why Florida State University is interested in the Big 10. And it is not sports related (does help). Most Big 10 schools have operating budgets in the 4 to 6 Billion dollar range. Florida State has an operating budget just over 3 Billion. Wisconsin has...

Rutgers95, any idea who the 3 were?

    OT: B1G additions

Doubt that is the full story. I believe the Big 10 Presidents would have voted for Cal & Stanford. The problem was Stanford. From what I have heard, they don't play well with others. Lot of it deals with research and collaboration (and the Big 10 is big on that and all parties that have...

Cal & Stanford as B1G members

Thanks for the info. If the Cal admin really believes that, then they have committed suicide. Feel bad for the Cal community, they deserve better than that.

Cal & Stanford as B1G members

Retired711, have you heard anything from Cal? From what I know and can tell, they have not reached out to the Big 10. The Big 10 does not reach out till the other party, until they reach out to them.

Colorado About To Defect Back To The Big 12

I should have clarified that one point on lessor payouts. Typically, new members get less until next contract where they get full shares. Worst case, it could be over a set period of time that could over lap a portion of the next contract (doubt this). In the past, it was considered a buy in...

Colorado About To Defect Back To The Big 12

I tend to agree with you. I believe it will get down to a few things for the Big 10 to expand west. 1. Is the PAC dead (Big 10 does not want to be responsible for the death of the PAC). 2. Can the Big 10 get funding from the networks for the additional members so as to not reduce the payout to...

    Pac12 dissolution discussion

One thing they did not address is the $70 Million owed to Comcast. That is $5.8 million per school for the 12 schools (including USC & UCLA). That is going to hurt.

The takeaway, in English: Most departments at Rutgers meet regularly with their Big Ten counterparts to the discuss latest developments in their respective field, and students in New Jersey can enroll in certain online classes at the other universities for no extra cost. The real benefit is the...

    Pac12 dissolution discussion

Doctor Worm, thanks for the info. For the 14 members, it will take 11 schools. Add ND (15 schools), then you are looking at 12 schools. Does not look promising.

    Pac12 dissolution discussion

Every school that has joined the Big 10 has always wanted to be a part of the CIC or today it is called the Big 10 Academic Alliance. Back in the late 90's Notre Dame wanted access to the CIC but not join for football. The Big 10 Academic Alliance is the real carrot, schools want access to...

    Pac12 dissolution discussion

The question pertaining to the GOR, is how many members are required to dissolve the conference? That is what it is going to take for any school of interest to leave. All seven of the "Magnific 7" must believe they have a landing spot in either the SEC or Big 10. It is left to the others to...

I agree with what you are saying. With that much inventory, you are right in saying that you could have a double header on Friday withlate night Saturday. That is 3 more windows and you still have Thursday if you have the inventory or the desire to go there. That would be 4 windows, how much...

I believe all 4 (Oregon-UW-Cal-Stanford) will be in the Big 10 before it is all over.

    Pac12 dissolution discussion

Retired711, the real question is Stanford. Some people question whether Stanford wants to compete with NIL and they wonder what they are going to do. Also, from what I have heard (not sure) Stanford does not play well with others when it comes to collaboration (research). From what I follow on...
