Sorry but you're incorrect. Barrett has not yet announced. He has 1 more year of eligibility. The expectation at UM (as of today) is that he will return in 2023.
Seems like its the opposite of being short sighted, he's taking a longer term view. Michigan will lose Michael Barrett and Junior Colson after the 2023 season. So presumably Hausmann will have a starting role as an ILB for the next 2 seasons.
LOL. Michigan has three 10 win seasons and an 8 win season in last 4 years . A NY6 Bowl win over FLA in 2016 and a BCS win in Sugar Bowl in 2012.
"Down" at Michigan would be the best decade at Nebraska in the last 30 years.
