I know. Maybe I should have worded it differently. That's the only season he made it to the Sweet 16 on his way to a F4. Other than that outlier, they haven't made another Sweet 16 (or further) since he's been coaching there.
Pearl has only made 1 Sweet 16 in his time at Auburn. I would not be surprised to see UK go further than them in the NCAA. Florida is currently playing the best ball in the SEC right now imo. Alabama has loads of potential to make a deep run if they can cut turnovers out.
Obviously Cal didn't want to leave. Winning just didn't go his way like he had hoped and it was time to move on. It was best for both parties. Nobody should be mean about it.
Difference was 2 points. Goaltend call was pretty big. Alabama blows this team out if they don't turn the ball over 17 times. That's 37 turnovers in the last 2 games.
