Self was never caught on wiretap. Or at least not with anything incriminating. The NCAA is going after Self for a text that doesn't specifically incriminate Self in regards to the DeAndre Ayton recruitment because Self texted - "That's how it works. At UNC and Duke." KU is claiming that the text...
This is KU's main point. The trial was prior to the 2018-19 season. If Williamson's recruitment warranted further investigating, why did Duke and the NCAA both clear him to play?
From the actual KU response...
"Townsend's credibility assessment was vindicated fully as evidenced by the fact...
Kansas defense is essentially that the NCAA is trying to take them down for two players, Zion & Ayton, that never ended up at KU. If the NCAA so does believe that Zion & Ayton were being shopped around then those 2 should have been declared ineligible for play at Duke & Zona. If the NCAA truly...
Part of KU's response to the Zion text was that Zion was cleared to compete by the NCAA clearinghouse as well as an internal Duke investigation. So basically, the response is - Neither the NCAA or Duke believe Zion and/or his family wanted improper benefits as the NCAA & Duke both cleared him...

Doesn't Self and Cal have the same number of NCs? And if KU makes the Final Four this year they'll have the same number of Final Fours too (assuming UK doesn't make it).
