    Let’s Get Tony Elliot

No way Dabo comes here. Maybe Dabo goes to Florida if that job opens up. Over the last 25 years NU football probably is on par, if not slightly better than UVA. Maybe a big check plus the chance to be in the BIG would be appealing.

    Braun’s future

Mike Davis took IU to the NCAA Championship game (where they havent been since). Thats way better than “good.” If Braun took us to the playoff finals and then flamed out forever, I would be fine with that!

    End of the Prime mystique

I You can't argue with people on this one. It's a completely moving target. First it was a he's bad coach even though he took over a team that went 1-11 the previous year and won 4 games his first year and now is sitting ranked at 5-2 and his teams have shown steady improvement. Now, it's...

    End of the Prime mystique

Sorry for your loss. I'm curious as to whether the majority of older (60+) CU alumni are anti-prime because he's flashy and represents a new world of NIL college football or if they are happy to be relevant. Colorado is ranked and is 5-2 for the first time since 2005. Donations are up across...

    Transfer Portal

I watched Rowan play in person against St. Johns. He would have been a really strong option to take over for Boo had he stayed. He can get to the hoop and create his own shot. Collins may still be salty over the decommit and that's fine but Roawan would absolutely help the team next year and...

The BoT will fire Schill because they don't want NU to become Rice

I agree that we will be bad - real bad - short term. But it’s not like Fitz was the only person who has ever had success at NU. Gary Barnett and Randy Walker proved that you could out scheme opponents and win. My favorite NU game of all time is the 54-51 game against Michigan. Randy Walker...

The BoT will fire Schill because they don't want NU to become Rice

I’m a little more cynical. I think if we had won the west and finished with a great record they would have tried to be more creative. He still would have been in a mess of trouble but I think he would have had more vocal defenders on the BoT and Schill would have been more hesitant. I mean...

The BoT will fire Schill because they don't want NU to become Rice

Sure - but I was noting that it doesn’t mean the BoT wants to be Rice or UChidago (maybe they do) it’s just easier to fire someone who hasn’t had much recent success. Even if he is the living embodiment of NU football (which he is). I’m not sure would have been fired if we had gone 10-2 the...

The BoT will fire Schill because they don't want NU to become Rice

To be fair - Fitz likely would have been fired at a lot of P5 programs after the last two years. Not many coaches survive having a season where you don’t win a single game on American soil.

Could Coach’s admiration for the military have had something to do with the hazing?

Many posters have brought up the military (particularly boot camp) as an example of when hazing can bring a group closer together. Fitz’s love for the military is always on display, I wouldn’t draw a direct connection between the two, but I see why some people think it makes him more likely to...

A defense of Schill and Gragg

Great point and he’s not just a random lawyer either. He was the Dean of U Chicago’s law school.

    Cam Porter article

This is actually pretty well researched for a non-NU publication and on balance seems pretty fair. Heck, they even had a Venric Mark reference! Thanks for sharing. Good find.

Don't Hate Me, But I Want to Talk Purdue

I hear you on the “core ideas remain pretty much the same.” But in your line of business are the core ideas leading to success? I’m assuming the answer is yes. Yet, the BIG has not produced a national champion in over two decades and our top teams consistently under perform in the tourney. If...

Don't Hate Me, But I Want to Talk Purdue

OK - I’ll disengage as it seems I’ve struck a nerve. You are one of the rare professionals who doesn’t have to change in 50 years regardless of changes in case law or technology. The rest of us do. The BIG hasn’t won a championship in decades so I think they may fall into the category as the...
