    UNC Women's Soccer 2026-2027

talking about the defense yesterday: Notre Dame has an elite front line. Our best defense was preventing ND from ever building though the midfield to create many chances. Credit Antonnucci, Pennie, Kennedy, Munson, etc.. for that wall. ND’s only offense was long balls in the counterattack...

    Wrestling 2026-2027

One additional thought: until UNC can fully endow all scholarships, it behooves coaches to take as many in-state kids as they can to stretch what level of aid they can give to the whole team. It is a lot easier to fund 30 in-state kids at $25K per year than it is to fund 30 out-of-state kids...

    Wrestling 2026-2027

One important caveat on the fundraising: after the House V NCAA court ruling the scholarship limit in wrestling jumped from 9.9 to 30. So there is a need for more money that did not exist before. I cant say how many additional scholarships the athletic department/Rams clud initially pledged to...

    2027 Recruiting

Totally agree. I would not consider TN at all right now if I was a recruit. But they do have money and playing time, so I guess it is just a question of who is savvy enough to find that money and opportunity elsewhere.

    2027 Recruiting

UNC beats UofSC for a recruit most years. Some players who chose UNC over UofSC 2025: Kate Harpring (offered, and visited) 2024: Taliya Henderson (finalist) 2024: Blanca Thomas (finalist) 2023: Ciera Toomey (offer) 2022: we had only one recruit that year (Paulina Paris) 2021: Teonni Key...

The Landscape of NCAA Olympic Sports

For better or worse, Congress is attempting to address multiple NCAA issues as we speak; this is not the only one on their radar. While an argument can be made that the presenters of this particular bill are more interested in the xenophobic spectre of international students on college campuses...

    2027 Recruiting

True bigs are historically hard to land in the portal: small talent pool equals high prices. We missed the top big portal targets the last few years and have "settled" for three undersized (but high quality and efficient) tweener post players: Gakdeng, Harris and Achol. To be clear, I...

    Banghart Pressor Today

New interview by Coach Banghart today: one interesting insight is her comment about high school players now needing an immediate impact or you may as well [recruit from] the portal. It in an interesting comment. And I think it is pretty sincere if you look at our 2027 recruit list. By my...
