This will hurt player participation. Numbers are dropping as it is, this will for sure have an impact on depth/JV players on all rosters. I have no idea how this will work for conferences who don't play soph games.
Let me propose a situation:
Lets say your starting QBs helmet comes off during a play and has to be removed for 1 play by rule. You then put in your backup until the starter is able to return (1 play). Now that backup QB cannot play the next day in the JV game.
Under this new rule that is how...
Yes, as stated previously I have recognized the talent they have. D1 talent does not always translate to trophies.
What do they do from a scheme or program perspective that makes people believe they can continue the trend of state title appearances? How are they different?
True. They are larger by comparison, but Marist is not Loyola, MS or Beast and Benet is not East Side, LZ or MC. If I recall they got shut out 42-0 against Marist. It’s a different ball game after the quarterfinals in 7a and 8a.
The question was, how will they fair against the usual suspects...
On the surface they look loaded with talent but how they adjust to coaching/play style of the major 7A programs in the playoffs will be a test. I know we all love Superman (respect) and PR (respect) but their defense was not in the same league as Batavia, Lake Zurich and MC (three of the best...
Lake Zurich will return 10 starters and 5 contributors from the state team last year (most of them on defense). They will most likely be replacing Sanborn with... wait fot it... a younger Sanborn. As a freshman he saw a ton of time during the playoff run leading up to state. LZ will be fast as...
I have seen all of the D1 LBs that LZ has been blessed with over the years.
Raffelson, Coleman, Lynn, Moskal and now Sanborn.
All different players in their own way. Lynn is being looked at by NFL teams for next years draft. JJ was until his injury history caught up with him. With all that...
Knowing how upset a friend of mine gets when I jab at the warrior princess, this got me laughing.
Rockton looked better than I expected them to look, after watching the beat down of Harlem (Harlem beat Hon) the night before. If they completed some of those throws to the #2 WR for first downs...
Long time lurker, first time poster.
After seeing both of these teams in person, I can say that Fenwick did not play to their potential on Sat. I believe they played down to Rockton's level for 3 quarters.
With that being said it is evident that when 23 is not in the game for Fenwick, their...
