Love me some laurels. Still wanting to find a nursery within a 4 hour drive where I can get some ground cover palmetto. As goose pointed out, I have almost no shrubbery. Just a nice tree form tardiva hydrangea, azalea, and some Lillie’s. Palmetto, laurels, Natchez crape myrtle and maybe an evergreen of some kind is on my list for 2019. We’ll see!

I’m ready to accept that this winter was a dud, weather wise. Ready to move on to spring but I also realize it’s a 100% chance we get more ice cold rain thru late April. Those Columbia pfg shirts are just itching to be worn again.

UCL - sorry to hear about the first fight at the youth soccer game. Gotta say tho, I was involved in a brawl at a soccer game several times. We had a bad rep even back then. Once, at an away game, we were being heckled pretty hard by the opposing fans. During a free kick, our fullback turned and intentionally kicked it right in the face of a fan. Absolutely decked this poor bastard. Out cold. Khsaa got involved and suspended him for the rest of the year and we were immediately escorted off the field. Highlight of my soccer career, probably.

My daughter turned 5 over the weekend. I bring up my boys more on here, but she’s my favorite. Do you all have any idea how much an American girl doll is?? Good freaking lord.

Sincerely mean this, tough loss to Warren Central Strokin. Thought you guys had it won, missed free throws is tough way to lose. My MNHHS Marrons came out of the 2nd Region, have you watched them play ? They have a couple stud JR's and a couple Sr's on the team. Won 22 straight and blew out Ky KY Tandy and UHA.

Thanks catsfan. This year was a "what could have been" season. 2 of Central's starters were in our program for 2+ years and transferred in late July/August. It was a pretty legit transfer so I can't whine.

Also, our 6'6 Center tore an ACL late into the football season. And his backup broke his wrist about 2.5 weeks ago in practice. He played, but was essentially one-armed out there.

We felt like this year could have been a big breakthrough for us. And even with all of that, we were a couple of plays away from winning that game and then who knows?? The 4th Region has another good draw this year. Central could make it to Saturday again.

2 years ago, when we lost 4 players due to injury, we won 4 games total. So the talent level has definitely increased over that time. We lose one senior (who was awesome in the post-season), so the program is in pretty good shape.

*Sorry, I'll quit talking HS b-ball now. Just proud of my fellas.

One more thing:

I feel like I should talk about how I went 24-25 from 3 (5-spot 3 point contest locations) at Diddle Arena before our warmup time. We got there early, the boys weren't allowed to take the floor until 45 minutes before tip. So I got a ball and shot around. I was in a coaching shirt and Nikes. Went bonkers. Made 13 in a row. Rattled one out from top of the key that should have gone down and then made 11 more. Finished on a streak and didn't keep going. Scared myself.

Suck on that, Colonel!

Mayfield is no pushover, which I hate to admit since they were in our district when I grew up. They typically make a huge leap in December after their football players get into the gym.

Should be a good game.

If i looked at the bracket right, IF MNHHS and Warren Central face each other in the next round, I think MNHHS wins quite easily. I have watched both teams, WC just does not impress me.

Wild shot in the dark here (rolleyes), but I’m guessing some heavy cocaine use in the 90210 years played a part. 52 seems pretty young to die from a stroke.

Not a doctor, but I'd assume doing cocaine in your 20's and 30's and being a fat *** your entire life would have similar health consequences but what do I know?

Ironic that he died of a massive stroke after booze, smack, car and motorcycle wrecks, and the mob couldn’t kill him.

Regardless, Heaven just got a whole lot cooler.
