Nah, just misunderstood apparently. I knew what you were referring to, but I'm older than the average poster most likely. (46) I wasn't alive in 1951 but I know it was a championship season.
Same age, here. I've followed UK basketball my entire life---Or so it seems. My brother has been a UK fan since, well, forever. He moved to Kentucky when we were kids----close to Lexington. So he gets his BBN love from that. I have a few family members who are UK fans. Then married into a BIG UK fan, family. So its(UK basketball) has been a part of my life for sometime. I guess its why I don't have the "hate" for UK as most IU fans do. I like to pole fun. Stir the pot. But its all in fun, and good spirits. Its just a game. A UK or an IU win, or loss, has never put food on the table...or taken it off. Taken clothes off my kids back---nor put them on. Never paid the house payment, car payment or the utilities...When it does---then I'll probably start to care a tad bit more.

I lived on Greenville/Borden Road. Went to school with some Stumler's. Hated to see Huber's get sold....Loved that place.
The restaurant was sold not the orchard and winery, at least. I was raised on the farm right across the road from the orchard and bordered on the other side from Koetter’s.
Grandfather was Callistus Smith

I hate to admit this but my wife is a Duke fan but I've been trying to get her to flip for 18 years and still hasn't worked. At least all 4 of my kids (20,18,17, and 16) are all UK fans I at least got something right [thumb2]
I know it's too late now, but I wouldn't have even dated a Duke fan. Have you tried exorcism? However kudos to you for raising your kids the right way.

"One year when UK was good in football, they were also good in basketball as well."

In case you havent noticed Borden, UK is good every year in basketball. Not just the random odd year they win a lot of games in football. But then again, we know you knew that and posted it to convey what you conveyed anyways. Really eats you up that UK is superior to Indiana, doesnt it?

I am an IU fan...But also a basketball fan. Plus, I've "rooted" for UK since I was 10. My brother is a big UK fan....So is my wife. MOF, her entire family is. I have no issues with UK. I mean, I like to take some shots here and there. Stir the pot. But it's all in fun. My brother post on here. Just thought it was worth sharing.
I'll vouch. Who's your brother?

I know Mr. Smith, well. He and my grandfather were really good friends. I used to go over to Bev Koetters all the time. We had some good old times over there.

UK won their 9th overall Bowl game this year. Also, the last time UK won 10 games AND a Bowl game was 1950-51 season.....

Just sayin'................[cheers]
I don’t tend to believe in sports omens.

But I sure as shootin’ believe in classy fans no matter whom they root for.

Which is why I’m gonna like the **** out of anything you post in this thread. [winking]

Lighten up on the trolling and try to have a grown up discussion every now and then. You might just like how it feels.
Kinda of like you saying Illinois was going to be better than MSU? Or that Nojel Eastern was better than Romeo Langford? Or how Romeo wouldn't be among the Top 5 freshman in the Big 10? Shall I continue?

THing is, you tried to be a smart ***. Problem is, you don't even understand the context of my thread.

Just you being you.....WHich is bad.

Off topic here, but Ive noticed you always capitalize the WH in which instead of just the W. Is there a reason for this?

SOmeone is paying attention. AS I said...was talking to my wife about it. She's a huge UK fan. Just thought I;d share. Nothing more.
I have a question Borden. WTF don't you get smart and follow your wife? Your life would be a lot more pleasant in more ways than 1

Winning National Championships since 1987 :flushed: I will let you figure out the others[/QUOTE]
Meh....I don't worry about that. I've been blessed with seeing IU win 3 titles. Sure it would be great, fun, etc, etc...to win another. But if they don't, oh well. I'm sure eventually the hardware will find its way back to IU. Hopefully I'm around to see it. If not---I've seen three of them.
