Per @VitalVegas on Twitter.....

Rumor is Rick Pitino will coach UNLV men’s basketball, five year deal for 2.5 million a year to be announced after the mountains west tourney.

Thoughts?

Legal prostitution, sports gambling...what could go wrong.

In all seriousness. A pretty nice fit for both. UNLV shouldn’t be as bad as they are and they got a Coach way out of their league. He’ll have them in the tournament before his first contract is up

NCAA should never allow Pitino to Coach at any NCAA Institution. Man is a cheater in basketball and to family. Low life pond scum that contributed to the ruining of many lives.
This ^^^

I won't be surprised if the NCAA gives him some sorta "show cause" penalty for his actions at U6.

Remember the big comment his wife made prior to him taking the UL job? Something like "I'm not raising my kids in Las Vegas". Guess she won't have to worry about that now.

Then Pitino's wife Joanne made a much-publicized trip to Las Vegas on Feb. 27-28 to tour UNLV and check out homes. But the trip ended badly, with Joanne Pitino sitting alone at McCarran International Airport for several hours after being dropped off by UNLV officials.

That incident has been rumored around UNLV for months, and Rick Pitino confirmed it, calling it "a mishap at the airport."

"If you're at the airport for 10 or 12 hours -- or whatever it was -- waiting by yourself, it's not the best feeling in the world," he said. "But it happens. My wife is a woman who's been through a lot in her life, and that was just an inconvenience."

Pitino said the incident had no bearing on his decision, and that Harter and his wife got along well. But five days afterward, on March 4, he called Cavagnaro to turn down the job.

Just for emphasis.

An inconvenience?

The mother of your children is an inconvenience?

Oh HELLS NO! I wish I could meet her again. She's a really nice woman who deserves better.

I just reread this,

My wife is a woman who's been through a lot in her life, and that was just an inconvenience."

His ethics and principles would certainly fit in. I wonder why someone didn't think of it sooner!

Y'all act like the NCAA is a bastion of morality. The NCAA is much more corrupt than Pitino can ever be and he fits in nicely with all of college sports.

All that matters in the NCAA is winning. Nothing more and nothing less. Bill Self has been cheating all these years, but guess what, his employers could care less.

Y'all need to stop being so naive and judgemental. If this happens, this is big for UNLV. Would love to see this happen.

Joanne is a big girl, if she hung around an airport for 10-12 hours, that's on her. Never saw that women smiling in the stands at Kentucky, of course, living with Rick may have had something to do with that.

Also having to stand under the goal and throw free throw attempts back to her eventual hubby. [laughing]

Yep because there is no way the NCAA would ever strip a school of it's National Championship and the banner would ever come down.

Oh wait... [smoke]

You might have missed it, but our coach has had two banners pulled down. You must really have some solid opinions of our coach based on the moral compass the NCAA represents.
