Not a high-maintenance thing at all. Regarding gifts for your wife, figure out 5-6 nice things she's going to buy for herself throughout the year and give those as her Christmas gifts. That includes lingerie (a lost art in terms of gifts for your spouse). It doesn't take that much effort these days with on-line ordering, and there's limited marginal expenditure above what she would do anyway. It's all upside!
Fair point by your ex, especially if you gave her a negligee or garter belt or something fancy like that. But if you give a few nice bra and panty sets that are a sexier upgrade than what she typically purchases you can at least keep a straight face during this argument, and she'll truly appreciate the gesture.
If your ex gave YOU something skimpy and sexy to wear, it would be a gift for neither. Like, nobody.

If we're gonna talk streaming video, I'm gonna mention that new Black Mirror episode (some are calling it a movie) drops on Friday.
That series effing rules.
British suspense series on Netflix, every episode is unrelated so you can start anywhere.
A lot like The Twilight Zone but updated to imagine future technology. Lots of great actors and amazing effects and imagination. Fascinating and mind-blowing, IMO, but not much middle ground - most either love it or it's just too far out there. There are a few that aren't stellar, but 80-90% of the episodes are awesome.
Buddy of mine turned me on to it a year ago. Start with either White Christmas (with Jon Hamm), The Entire History of You, Nosedive (with Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve), or maybe San Junipero - those are good samples to see if you'll like the series. Playtest is another you might like.
Most are about an hour or maybe a little longer. If you don't want to invest that much time off the bat, google a summary and see if it appeals to you.
If you like it at all, you'll freaking love it.
