I was a Rex super fan as a kid.

And it wasn’t because he was white, it was because he was a badass FROM KENTUCKY.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Reid Travis will be the #1 cause for redass going forward. The kid is really likable and plays his tail off and smart and polite and everything you want to rep your university. But that dude just doesn’t fit in.

Georgia? Sure. Mid-level Big East? Yep. Virginia? Absolutely. But here? Not feeling it. Really hope I’m wrong because I want to love that kid.

He’s literally the only bright a lot on an entire team of pussies. The only redass should be when John takes him out of the game

Reid Travis is the least of my redass right now. He is what he is and he knows it. What he does he does well and he stays in his lane. Dude is fundamental, crushes the glass and knows how to drawl fouls.

The rest of the mess though? I’m sick & fng tired of watching piss poor 3 shooting year in & year out. The 3 point shot in college isn’t difficult to make & every fall going into the season we hear **** like.. YOU WON’T ZONE THIS BUNCH. WE HAVE SHOT MAKERS.

Here we are again building brick houses every damn game. Teams back off and clog the middle. It’s really tough to swallow when the game is being played more and more with a premium on spacing & shooting.

~ This announcing crew is worthy of this game.

~ Cal still has no idea who to play or when to play them. He needs to shorten that bench tremendously by the end of December.

~ No reason for such poor defense and shooting but I also don't know what we run on offense (same **** I've said for what seems like a decade). Proof? What's our best out of bounds play?

~ The charity stripe is winning this game.

Travis- PJ (most nights) - Herro - IQ - Johnson. Let the reserves spell them here and there. EJ - Hagans - Richards benched until further notice (reserve minutes only).

If he knows how to drawl fouls, he should fit right in at Kentucky.

Limping to the end of the game against another scrub opponent.

I love watching Cal act like a GD lunatic on the sideline.

Don’t misunderstand, Travis isn’t ever going to be the worst guy on the floor. Never.

But you guys are going to be PISSED when UNC and Kansas and top tier SEC foes pull him out away from the basket and either get him to switch off pick and rolls or have 4s/5s that can really stretch the floor. Just don’t want expectations for him to exceed what he’s capable of.

I think everyone knows what Travis is...

What sucks is when his coach, whom I mostly defend, puts him in a position to fail. He should play the 5, NEVER play with Richards, and you just deal with his shortcomings because what he brings to the team in leadership, IQ, and toughness is invaluable.

Bottom line is, Travis took Richards spot but Cal can’t bring himself to sit the guy so now we rotate two guys that get hunted on P&R...and PJ and EJ ain’t so great themselves in dealing with it.

But...3 of those guys bring something to the table that you can live with them getting toasted occasionally on D and one doesn’t.

So what I’m saying is Richards needs to have a seat by Brad.

-Richards is a fine commodity for deep foul trouble and spot duty.

-Hagans is awful.

-Johnson and Herro keep progressing. That's good news. Our defense isn't and seems to be regressing. Team D is so bad. We're literally tripping over each other.

-What a sports day. Man.

-Wazzo vs Washington is amazing.

-Big day tomorrow. At least 2-3 spots we can move up.

As a coach, can’t you see a way to avoid this by going with Reid and Montgomery in a 3-2 or even 2-3 zone?

I realize Cal is against a zone, but this long team is perfect for it especially if you want to avoid the pick n roll switching that we do leaving Reid/Richards in the worst positions possible.
