Sold my BGE close to 2 years ago and bought a Weber gas grill and an electric smoker to replace it. I loved the BGE, but I was no master with it, and getting it up to controlled temp for dinner after work/school with kids just wasn't worth it for me. Again, I'm not BBQ master, so for me, the electric smoker works just as well as the BGE. And it's 5,000,000,000 times easier to use. I'm sure this is BBQ blasphemy, but I really don't give a ****.

This all came to pass after I discovered sous vide steak with a cast iron finish. Once I found a better way to prepare steak, the BGE's days were numbered.

*The cute little BGE cult is a little strange for my taste as well. The FB group is filled with fat snobby weirdos.

-The BGE is a fantastic all around grill, that unfortunately seems to be lost on most people.

I got the brisket st a Silver Dollar on Friday.

Mine isn’t reminiscent of Bakersfield and the Dust Bowl but it is better than theirs.

I do like their bar though.

Maui is silly this year. 3 top 10 teams + Xavier, Arizona, Iowa St.

Duke will have to go through Auburn & Gonzaga. Be good for us & college basketball to see them hopefully come back down to earth. One of those two is going to play them close. :100points:

They’re deserving of their hoopla thus far but that TOO perfect honeymoon won’t last forever.

No it won't, but if the media was fellating us in 2014-15 the way they're fellating Duke this year, no wonder everybody hated us.

"Duke didn't even play that well and they're up by 17 at halftime. Wow! WHAT A TEAM!!!"

They were 9 of 17 from three, idiots.

I think I read that the Maui tournament is really trying to make it the elite early season tournament again.

Cal seems to be scared of anything that isn’t a final four environment so I doubt we’ll be included.

Really is the worst thing about Cal's scheduling. Play Maui, co*ksucker.

Didn't watch but did a SDSU player with an awful looking shot hit (11) 3s?

* Pretty happy to not see Duke on the schedule for a little while, to be honest.

* What a weekend. My 40th birthday "present" was a trip to Moab. Absolutely amazing.

- flew into denver and drove up friday morning. took a pit stop in gypsum and climbed up to hanging lake.
- saturday = dead horse 50-miler. was trying to help pace the lass to her first 50 finish, but she had a bad day. injuries, lack of training, then wiped tf out and busted up her knee. ended the day with about 22 miles and a dnf. not happy, of course, but the race and course were amazing.
- sunday morning we drove thru arches national park. hiked up to delicate arch at 5:30am to watch the sunrise, and the view was stunning. also checked out devils garden and balancing rock as well.
- such a cool town, with a comination of runners, 4x4 enthusiasts, mountain bikers, rock climbers, hippies, and artists. highly, highly recommend.

* Keys, wallet, sunglasses, phone. I lose at least one of these nearly every single day.

* Big changes coming in the career department......found out last Monday I'm being laid off, effective 1/9. It's something everyone on my team has known for years is coming, but we just didn't know who it would be. Sucks ***, obviously, but: 1> my company owes me tons of $$, and 2> i'm literally considering any and all options.

* Plans as of now:

- look for similar job/industry/location
- same, but anywhere in the us
- start my own business
- move to key west and bartend (death or permanent disability permitting, of course)

* Never felt so vindicated for being diligent in my finances. No panic, no rush, no undue stress. Word to the wise -- save for a rainy day, y'all.

* Condi Rice. GTFOtta here. The "Rooney Rule" is well intended, but the UNintented consequences often lead to "hey, grab a nice talking afro-american and let's run them thru the motions and get this out of the way asap!"

* Never, ever trade with the Yankees. Their prospects are overrated, particularly if they're willing to part with them.

* Rolling Stones coming to Jazz Fest, for whatever that's worth.

* Lass got me Hello Fresh, the 2x/week order. Food is good enough, and even I can't F it up.

* I'll tell you what's on the agenda for my next Utah trip (going back in April): driving thru and checking out some of these wacky *** FLDS towns (Hildale, Colorado City, Hurricane, etc). And speaking of which, if anyone is looking for an 18-bed, 14-bath home for well under a mill, here ya go:

Damn, sorry Ursh. Good thing the house is paid off.
Wish you much luck in the hunt.

Saturday...shewee. Thanks as always to the Schem’s, a more intimate tailgate. When the Old Fitz decanter gets cracked by 10am, things will go sideways.

Had a blast at dinner, thanks to everybody who came. Can’t remember how Anth’s steak came out. Think mine was pretty good.

Friendsgiving last night, always a good time. Sort of deviated from my traditional 18-24 hour pork butt. 7 hour product was probably why Chase gave up the egg.

Formal dinner weds night, casual lunch Thursday, and then I’m cooking Thursday night...grief.

Anthony Kim essentially retiring really robbed golf fans of a lot of great moments. That guy was a young Ryder Cup stud well before Fatrick.

Actually just had our guy from Radcliffe move to Baton Rouge to takeover that location. Taking over 40 million dollar store from a 6 million dollar store, and that should be an easy transition.

We are opening a lot more shops out west, but honestly from a financial standpoint PTI may be the smartest guy at our company day 1.

Not a good fit, IMO

I poop twice a day. I've always wondered which meals I'm pooping (I don't know unless I eat corn). Is the first one just breakfast or is it breakfast and lunch? Is the second for lunch and dinner or just dinner?
