Spent yesterday at jury duty, and I didn’t stand a chance. I practically laughed in the prosecutors face when he asked me if I could send someone to prison for selling small amounts of weed.
I served on special narcotics grand jury in NYC for a month, and they didn’t charge anyone for any weed, ever - and reminded all of us that they wouldn’t at every turn.
I became a Cubs fan at age 7 bc of Andre Dawson. I wanted that hairdo too. The Cubs late season unraveling was tough but I'm not mad. They went to the NLCS 3 straight years with a World Series title in between. And even though they blew it this year, they still finished tied for the NL's best record by season's end. We also didn't have our former MVP for most of the season. We have a young core moving forward. The future is still bright. Losses like these rekindle the fire. Go Cubbies!
