Why do black dudes have all the awesome nicknames these days? What happened to the white guy nickname? We all have a great uncle named Lefty, Shorty, Slim, Squeaky, Butch, etc.

Shorts:

- Grandpa was Butch. Great Uncle was Shorty. On mom’s side have Uncle Mack.

- West Palm Beach tomorrow for the wedding of the lass’s best friend from high school (the Columbian everyone was drooling over at the wedding). Love her high school friends. Despite being New England prep school kids- really nice and down to earth. Plus, her fiancé is awesome. Wish I got to spend more time with them. Should be a helluva time. Back Monday.

- Imagine Norm McDonald is actually enjoying being on the business end of the hypersensitive left’s ire. Why do so many of my people want to take comedy from us?

- Terry Wilson’s speed is just amazing. Can’t believe we get this dude for 3 years.

- We need some dudes but any class anchored by Whitney and Maxey will be a great one. Those guys are proto Calipari players.

- New Riff bourbon makes a delicious old fashioned. Very impressed.

- September is the most underrated month of the year- football, near perfect weather (for both summerheads and fallballs), basketball recruiting, Oktoberfest, BBdK’s birthday, great beer, etc.

- Despite yesterday’s takedown, I love you, Llama. :victory:

-I love you too, Chad. Our Facebook relationship status would be "IT'S COMPLICATED". lolz

-Didn't have any cool nicknames in my family, but my two grandfathers had the two best "Old Man Names" ever....Denzil and Ralph.

Glad I'll be dead long before this generation of kids become grandparents. Can't imagine "Grandma Mackayleighann" or "Grandpa Attyson".

-What gets the higher ratings: tonight's Boston College-Wake Forest game on ESPN, or tonight's Hurricane Florence coverage on The Weather Channel?

Fun fact- Lana del Rey was actually my wife’s “big sister” when she started high school.
The chick in the new Star Wars?

Still bothers me that Emo DarthVader couldn't just kill her one-on-one when he didn't give a second thought about gutting Han Solo. I mean, wtf? Nah, he just walked around throwing hissy fits and chopping down trees. I haven't even seen the new one...guess I will at some point.

My grandparents siblings included a Mick (for no other reason than them being irish), Frog, and a Deuce.

My niece is a New England Prep School kid and really isnt all that nice or down to earth.

The game breakdown on SEC Network was pretty cool. Obviously we dont have as much opportunity to watch those type of shows, but the old school NFL Films vibe to it was awesome.

We were supposed to have a few coastal friends staying with us until Florence got out of town, but once it was downgraded to a 2- they just decided to ride it out. I took it bit personal that they opted to stay in the path of a hurricane rather than enjoy a free bed and access to all my snacks.

ESPN sending out BREAKING notifications about the WNBA is not necessary.

-Grandpa's brother was Bunky and his best friend was Tex. My other grandpa went by Red because, well, he had red hair.

-When I think "down to earth" gyero comes to mind.

-Charleston bachelor party next week is in jeopardy due to Florence. Really keeping my fingers crossed for the Iodine State.

-Brothers and I are hosting a 70th birthday party for my Dad Saturday. 20 pounds of pork tenderloin going on the egg Saturday. ANY RECS.

-...but I don't care for St. Matthews. <--Cracked me up and as a recently minted *****-*** eastender I get it. (pretty charming area though, I now admit).

-Like a hot ham and swiss with dijon mustard, lettuce and tomato just fine.

-Into running now, I reckon. I've come to realize that I must have exercise for my mental health. Up to 2.5 miles of pavement which isn't bad for me. Hoping to get that up gradually (and my waistline down tbh). Anyhow, I've actually found myself looking forward to things again, randomly being happy, and being nice to people since I've started. I'm thinking there is a correlation.

-I've seen one snap of UofL so far this season. No clue what they have but according to local sports talk people are torn between 9-10 wins and FAR BOBBY.

Moderate running (30-40 minutes) is perfect for mental health- going to your happy place mentally, clearing your head, getting alone time, enjoying some fresh air, listening to some tunes, thinking about upcoming UK matchups/lineups, etc.

It’s easily my favorite form of exercise and has been for 10 years. I still lift for the sake of vanity but don’t enjoy it at all. Just get-in-get-out maintenance for dogdad.

I'm relatively impressed that some of you came from the stock of a Butch, Frog or Skeeter yet still seem to be productive members of society. Who says American class mobility is dead!?!
