I am not mad Hami got a contract. Happy for him, in fact. That said:
  • I’m a little jealous that someone can lock up $4M for being mediocre in their profession for 6 months.
  • I’m a little pissed that we can’t beat K-State when we had 4 of the roughly 50 collegiate players that got drafted this year.

When I was down there two weeks ago, I thought that Shakespeare place was an empty, out of business facility. There was no way to know that place housed an operational restaurant. Crazy.

Thursday night Randoms:

~ Speaking of music, I've recently been turned on to Greta Van Fleet. Holy ****, they've nailed the Zep sound. Bonzo would be proud (although the drummer is pretty vanilla).

~ Inks dried on the new build with a early Q1 completion date. Move in with the in-laws in a week and a half. Just a walk out basement that's bigger than my house and they are on the Lake. Pretty sweet gig for old dad as my FIL is a big fan of bourbon and chess.

~ Project child numero dos is under way. Practice has been fun.

~ Radiohead is a good band but not transcendental. I actually value Kid A above most of their work for its experimentation but I'm a weird *** metal head.

~ Pretty stoked about the Mariners possibly getting a chance to play in the post-season. Been a fan since the mid-90's and they've been trash since '01 so it's not quite a Cub fan pain, but it sucks.

Much love as always GYERO.

Well in honor of my all-time favorite UK Football Kickoff Luncheon moment is when, in the aftermath of Rich Brooks moving the game in Lexington to the 3rd week, richie’s Dad forcefully proclaimed to the crowd that “if the largest land-grant university in the Commonwealth of Kentucky decides to play the University of Louisville game on the moon Christmas morning, then by God, that’s when we’ll play it,” or something to that effect.

Standing O.

Sorry but you actually ARENT a Mariners fan according to GYERO sports fan rules. I thought I was a Cubs my whole life only to find out that was in fact impossible.

So both Vanderbilt & Hami get contracts but Wenyen is still twisting in the wind, interesting. One played 14 games and the other had one really good game, but Black Snake was pretty consistent good/bad all year but showed he could knock down shots and do some small things to help the team most every night yet no contract. Maybe he should have left a year earlier.

* 73, congrats and good luck!

That is pretty damn cool. Now don't embarrass us.

* Speaking of coaching your own kids, since I am now a soccer ball expert I will be coaching my 6 year old this fall. 5/6 yr old coed. 3 on 3, no goalie.

There will be tears and temper tantrums.

From me.

* Thanks to FIFA recommendations, my older kid's league is now going to be 4 on 4 with no goalie. She's been playing 7-on-7 with goalies for 3 seasons already.

Apparently this is how they do it in Europe so now that is how the Loveland Youth Soccer Association is going to do it. It is supposed to help the kids learn better skills. We'll see.

* I think Hami may have discovered his jumper. He was 50% from 3 for us over the last 9 games and shot 44% from deep in the NBA Summer League.

Foul trouble limiting him to 13 mins vs KSU really hurt.

He was fantastic until the calendar hit 2018, then he was borderline unplayable until mid February. Touching Freshman. Hope he does well and pisses Chase off forever.

* Yesterday, I wrote a truck month script called "A Perfect Fit." It was inspired by yesterday's blue jean conversation on here. I have been asked to make a demo of it already. Thanks, GYERO.

* Anth, were you able to pull any strings with your boy Mitch to get Dom Papa doing the sideline reporting in the Bahamas?

* Have a good Thursday, kids.

Does 73 coach St. Mathews? If so, the other coach: “We’re tickled to be here,” Young said. “We are the better team, we just didn’t prevail tonight.”
