Hey Cats. As you probably know Auburn headlines the field in the 2018 edition. Other teams include Arizona, Duke, Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa State, San Diego State and Xavier.

Anyway, I assume the Cats have been to this event a few times and was wondering if any esteemed RR community members have been. Thinking about attending so wondering if anyone has any recs. Hotels, tickets, golf etc would be great.

I heard Maui has great backyard barbecues and Polaroid cameras.

The fanbase is buzzing over this event. There could be dozens of proud Aubs in attendance from what I’m hearing.

Maybe that was tongue in cheek, but in terms of 'headlining' ...
1. Duke
2. Arizona
3. Zags
4. Xavier
5. Maaaaaaybe Auburn
6. Iowa State
7. Illinois
8. San Diego State.

So you're at least the top of the bottom tier!

I went when in Nov 2010 and Cal said that would be the last time he took a team to that tournament. I love it but I go to Maui every year anyway (live in Ca).
The teams all stay right there on Kaanapali beach (Marriott, Westin, Sheraton, etc) are all there on the beach and are nice.
The players and coaches can be seen walking around on the walk way that lines the entire beach, probably a mile long.

You jest. Auburn is the clear favorite as Duke breaks in all those FR. Gonzaga should be pretty good I guess.
Man this is classic. I really can't tell if the OP is serious or if he just is taking the joke too far. Auburn without the guys who have entered the draft is far from the favorite in this event. If they got 2 of those 3 back then they would be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the event for sure but still no where near the favorite. Duke then Gonzaga then Auburn. Zona is going to be horrible next season so at least there is that.

Dozens!!! I love it, that's cute.

Sorry couldn't help myself there. I remember when we used to accept invitations there and took 2-3,000 fans.

Auburn basketball will never headline anything, except maybe an FBI investigation, especially a field that includes Duke and Arizona.

I wouldn’t sleep on Iowa St., they have the best player in the field that nobody has ever heard of.

Actually Arizona is going to be TERRIBLE next year. In normal years, yes, they're a definite headliner. They won't make the NIT next year.

I’ve heard other positive accounts like this.

I think he must be joking with all of these Auburn posts, but I’ll give him credit...it’s hard to tell.

Duke could lose every game they play for the next 5 years and would still be the headliner of this group - especially given the high profile recruiting class. But I’d love to put my theory to the test.

I would think Auburn fans would be scared of another tournament after the embarrassing result of the last two they were in this year.

Good stuff here. Are tickets hard to get/ expensive? I’d like to avoid going through the travel packages they offer.

I for one will be rooting for Auburn. And I like seeing our Conference upgrading in basketball.
