Vanderbilt won’t be in college next year. That’s pretty evident when cal said “he’s done enough”.

Knowing what we could have done this year makes it that much worse (knowing what we will have next year).
No way Diallo and Richards get 1st Round slots, if they leave it will be a first for UK freshmen.

Looking at 5-6 departures returning maybe Green and Richards. Next year not much different from this year with no elite players inbound

Diallo has the Briscoe mindset. It doesn’t matter where he is projected.
Richards wasn’t happy that we lost . He still played more than he should have been playing . I can’t see him transferring
I never said Richards was going pro - I said transfer. Briscoe was the same way as Diallo - they don’t care, they just have the mindset they are leaving.
I don't really see Richards leaving, where can he go to get better than here at UK? We aren't recruiting another Big(EJ Montgomery is really a PF). Baker can be a REALLY good 2 Guard, Quade will be better, PJ and Wenyen will be much better also.

Who's gonna draft him? I just don't see anyone taking a gamble on a kid that can't stay healthy and the only reason he stood out on this team was because it was mediocre by UK standards; he rebounds and ...? He has all the tools, he needs to come back next year healthy and show what kind of player he is; if he's that good he'll be a lottery pick.
Seriously? We have most of the team coming back with a good class coming in. I have a hard time seeing us not being better. I like Shai and Knox, but it’s not like they were the most reliable guys.
Sorry for being a realist. It is what it is. We don’t have a top 3 type stud coming in and will be losing several players that just lost 11 games.
What SGA does here wont work in the NBA... He wont be able to finish at the rim... He needs to return,,get stronger, work on his shot
Agreed, Richards doesn't want to sit out a year when he can come back to UK next year and, if he's the player he was projected to be, have a stellar year and go high in the draft.
I like that team and I believe Richards will be on there or Montgomery. I don't think Richards is transferring. Why would he sit out a year at another school? Washington will be a beast next year and he'll have consistent outside shooting from 4-5 guys who can all shoot the 3 ball. That will just open it up inside for him. I would love for that to be our roster next year but unfortunately I believe 1-3 guys on this list will not be back (JV, Gabriel, PJ). If that happens we'll struggle next year.
If there is a mass exodus then we have more problems than next year’s roster. If JV, Richards, Diallo, Alexander and Knox all leave it will be beyond disappointing. There has to be a building of a roster to provide continuity. Cal has to find a way to keep guys who can provide a foundation.
Players that were getting it in the end, won the SEC tournament and made the Sweet Sixteen; no one would've predicted that back in February.

Why in the world would an old freshman transfer? He has to sit out and that makes absolutely zero sense.

I spent a lot of time around the players when i was in the media, it was always humorous to read fan's perspectives of what a player was thinking or their personal feelings...
If any of these guys go pro..or attempt to go pro, then we have a serious problem. This team was not that much better than the 13 team (With Noel) if at all..and we kept WCS, Poythress, etc for three and four years. From the 14 team, James Young was a much better player and talent than anyone we have on this year's team..and he went 1st round and now his career is pretty much done it seems. MKG was 1,000 times the ball player, competitor, and talent than anyone on this team and he went SECOND (Behind only AD) in the NBA draft, and his entire pro career has been a giant struggle. None of these guys are ready and even when it comes to "potential"..potential for what ? Flaming out after a 2 or 3 years in the NBA or NBDL ? Playing overseas ?
Or, we could not jump off the cliff and predict gloom and doom for next year without seeing the full roster.
Kid has shown no offensive game. No way he is gone but that is the Kentucky way. NBA wont draft a kid to just rebound and in the NBA he will be undersized.
Because he is pissed on the way Cal used him. Did you see him and Cal together on the bench at the end of the game? He got 8 minutes tonight and sat the bench and watched Washington miss 12 freebies to lose the game. Who knows maybe he could have blocked the last layup by Brown. Better free throw shooter than Washington
Do you really think Richards should have played more minutes tonight and PJ should have played less ? To get to the FT line Richards would have to actually hold on to the ball.

Well I guess we are about to find out if these gut feelings about a current trend are real or your stats hold up.
He might be a better free throw shooter but when was his last double double? Scores at FT throw line but doesn't score or rebound, doesn't sound like much of better option to me. His time will come and I don't think he'll want to sit a year waiting for it to.
Hope P.J. Comes back next year and practices his free thorns all summer. It is unfortunate that we have to post up a 6’7”player instead of the two 7 footers sitting the bench

We have never had a freshman leave that wasnt a 1st Round pick.
Richards is 20 years old as a freshman, to think he will transfer and sit out to be a 22 year old sophomore at a lesser program makes zero sense.
PJ has no one sniffing him right now.
Wenyen, who spent most his life in the US is believed to have family living in huts somewhere but never been proven.
Absolutely no basis for any of this conjecture. There is a first time for everything and some kids may go who havent in the past. I say we wait and see, there were many that still look stupid to this day the night Hami decided to stay at UK.

If Vanderbilt leaves, that would be beyond disappointing. If that happens, just more marginal players leaving the 1st glimmer of a possibility of being drafted. Gonna be hard to build a quality roster that way.
You’re doubting a roster that (A) isn’t finalized, and (B) you haven’t seen. Relax for a bit.
Need a whole culture change at UK and from Coach Cal if these guys go pro. A "it's okay..you're NOT a failure if you don't go pro after your Freshman or even Sophomore or Junior year." type of change. That seems to be what's "in" in terms of recruiting these days. Not the "1 and done and make you and your family temporarily rich or you're letting yourself down/a failure" type of stuff. I mean, OF COURSE, the Cousins, AD, Wall, Bledsoe, Booker, KAT, etc types need to go and should..but the Lamb, Briscoe, Dakari Johnson, James Young, etc types..no way in hell should they be going after just their Freshman year. Hell, James Young's career is probably done already..so is MKG's it seems. Where's Lamb and Briscoe ? Where's Dakari Johnson ? Daniel Orton ? Aaron Harrison ? And so on and so on.
Well, if he leaves, hopefully he ends up being a non factor like those two have been.
