Bagley is an excellent student so don't think there's any there there regarding his getting eligible.

Now Duval is a totally different story which of course no one questions since it's Duke.

Excellent student? How can you judge that, considering that he’s gotten most of his education online or at fake schools? Got some inside scoop?

People on here keep dreaming! Puke and unccheat are the "untouchables" and they know it and will gloat about it !!! Till the rest of the schools grow a pair , band together, stand up to the crooks like Emmerett and tell the ncaa to shove any punishment the ncaa levies out even if it means boycotting tournaments then you might just as well keep your mouth shut grin and take it.

This is a damning article in regard to the NCAA. How can you attend 3 high schools in 3 years and re-classify and become eligible at Duke of all places? I could not have re-classified an attended LCC after my Jr year of HS and that would just be as a student. They might not be able to place blame on Duke with this story but if Nike was paying the Bagleys, this could render Bagley as being ineligible which would cost Duke something.

That’s what is disconcerting. All of that info has been readily available and known. The NCAA truly doesn’t care.

This honestly scares the crap out of me. Do I think Duke and Coach K are squeaky clean, no but if these kids are being paid under the table by the time they are 16 I think it’s naive to think some of our guys, UNC guys, Kansas, UCLA, et al. Now is this going to be too big for the NCAA to police and they basically say “hey as long as coaches weren’t giving the money your school is safe” then this might end well. But if the FBI keeps sniffing and the NCAA tries to enforce their rules on everything found, every single P5 team will probably be punished.

Scares the crap out of you? Did you cheat? Are you a coach? Why does it scare the crap out of you?

If our team cheated, then we get what we deserve. Period. As of right now, UK did nothing wrong and no one should be worried.

If Nike is steering recruits to Duke and away from us, they aren’t acting in our interest either. At what point do we tell Nike to Eff off and shop our apparel deal.

It’s an interesting question. Presumably, we still see too much value in the Nike relationship to walk away.

If you ever watched Sopranos, our situation reminds me of Tony’s relationship with New York. On the show, when New York caught wind of something going well in Jersey, New York would demand their cut, or just steal it outright.

Nothing much Tony could do, if he wanted to stay in the game. He would play every angle he could, but would eventually have to make some kind of deal.

In this scenario, Nike is organized crime, and Coach K is the boss of New York. Of course we all know how it went for Phil Leotardo.

The Bagley’s were bankrupt. After Nike started sponsoring their team, they were able to live in a million dollar house neighborhood. Etc.

So, not enough for the NCAA to do anything huh? Of course, I don't know if there is anything that would make them hammer Duke.

It may take a little time... but this should gather some steam and be everywhere! To go from the Bagley's declaring bankruptcy one year to living in a luxurious home a few years later and enrolling in a private school where tuition was $36,250 per year... and, Bagley's father stating that Nike helps him to "make ends meet"... This is BIG!

"Marvin Bagley Jr. and his wife filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in April 2008, during the Great Recession, listing their combined annual income at just over $44,000. Property records indicate the Bagley home was sold in 2011 at a trustee's sale -- typically a sign of a foreclosure.

Four years later, shortly after Nike's sponsorship of the team became public, they left their working-class neighborhood in Phoenix for Southern California. In a tax filing, the Bagleys listed a home address in a gated subdivision in Northridge called Porter Ranch. Similarly sized homes in the vicinity typically sell for $750,000 to $1.5 million, said Jose Contreras, a Coldwell Banker real estate broker active in the area. Rents in the neighborhood range from $2,500 to $7,500 a month.

Bagley Jr. in 2016 acknowledged to Sports Illustrated that the family was relying on the Nike sponsorship and an athletic apparel company he was starting up "to make ends meet."

Once in California, the younger Bagley enrolled at Sierra Canyon, a private school in Chatsworth where tuition now tops out at $36,250 a year. BMWs and Mercedes frequent the student parking lot, and the school's celebrity roster includes kids named Jenner and Kardashian.

Neither the Bagleys nor Nike would offer any details about the team sponsorship or the family's personal finances. Contacted via telephone and through the Duke University sports information department, the Bagleys "respectfully declined" to comment."

This story was written by two guys working for a paper on the west coast in a medium size market. The large companies that cover sports have to willfully ignore this stuff. Scooped by two guys in Oregon. [laughing] They should be embarrassed but they are too busy licking K's boots.

What's the scoop? This has been know for over a year. This just shows you the NCAA does not care.

Im shocked. I thought all these elite kids just suddenly couldn't say no to the charm of Jeff Capel combined with playing in a high school gym full of nerds. Not to mention anyone who's watched college basketball over the past few years would give their left arm to call Grayson Allen a teammate. That doesn't even take into account the vacation destination lure of Durham. Nothing to see here, Duke just has so much going for it above the table that elite kids will happily ride the bench there just to be apart of it.

The NCAA is waiting for a situation similar to UNC. Do nothing about it for years, wait for some other program to royally screw the pooch (Louisville in UNC’s case) and destroy them. That way you can protect your favorite and still show you have authority. Buncha BS.

Duhon's mother got a good job, Boozers father did too, not to mention, Maggette and Lance Thomas, these things are getting old. The NCAA has got to end their love affair with North Carolina* and Duke bending and breaking rules. It's got to stop, to much secrecy and obvious cheating going on.

Didn't Tyler Hansbrough's mom get a job at UNC as soon as he committed? Seems like it came to light because she cheated with her boss or something.

The NCAA? Reminder, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey led the infractions committee that gave UNC a pass.

He was outnumbered in the effort to punish them, remember the North Carolina* fans wanted him off the case. It was so stressful for Skipper getting all of the ducks in a row, he had to quit shortly thereafter.

I'm sorry, but how does Bagley's family getting money from Nike differ from Enes Kanter's family getting money from the school in Turkey? Kanter was declared ineligible!!
There is a huge difference between the two situations. One school was Duke and the other was UK. I'm sure Thamel-toe is all over this one right?????
