The team didn’t play hard. It’s that simple. It’s not youth, it’s effort. That’s on the coaching staff.

Yes it is. Fouling now trying to get baskets is not the answer. Should have played defense and gave some effort earlier in the game. Maybe they just want to go home for Christmas who knows.

Feels like we have a 4 year point guard and combo guard running point. No real leader at the most important position on the floor. Sure, theyll have good games, but neither one is a title winning PG. Not yet anyways.

This is embarrassing, YOUTH had nothing to do with effort. We were jogging back on defense most of the game. Actually the only time we played hard is the last three and a half minutes of the game.
The good news is that we're going to have a lot of returning experience and talent next year. Even Knox has flaws.
I told people I thought this length talk is overplayed. It is only effective when we zone and Cal refused to hardly do that. All this length looks like they are slower than molasses on trying to defend. We need to recruit more traditionally sized players if they aren't at an elite level in athleticism. Hardly any of these guys can stay in front of their man. Time for Cal to change up his recruiting philosophy I think.

Very true. I hope to Hell that Cal gets serious with this group and puts a fire in their asses. Need more effort when they are in man2man.
“We’re young”. We’re always young. We will always be young. I’m old. Getting older. Doubtful I witness another NC unless Cal can say we have a good mix of veterans and youth. Oh well. Will still cheer for them but, watch them as much? Hard to watch UK basketball when effort is lacking.
Sad that’s what it takes to get Cal to a final four. Even worse it won’t be enough for a title though. Unless one of those players is a once in a generation player. Oh and the threat of an nba lockout pushes players back to UK.
