Thinning the herd is a common joke, but IMO it's about as honest as it gets when those making decisions put people's lives on a path to be impacted by said drugs.

I get what you're saying... my point was that marijuana already seems to be readily available, yet people choose to use heroin instead.
PTI made a good point in that if instead of being prescribed pain pills, prescribe medical marijuana instead, and never get people hooked in the first place.

Thanks for the stadium tips, guys. Definetely want to do a week long trip in the near future. Preferably the New England area. Seems like it'd be the most "baseball" leg to do. Boston/NY/Philly/DC. Something like that. Right now I'm leaning toward doing Baltimore @ Cleveland in September. Friday night, fireworks, sons favorite team, Labor Day week. Not the ideal stadium but not a lot of AL teams nearby and I really want to let him take an O's game while they still have Machado.
Haven't listened to a single minute of KSR since the PMT guys were on. Just don't have the desire. I'm sure mags doesn't worry that taking 7 months off will have a negative effect on his listenership but I kinda do. HAVING SAID THAT, BJW is loyal to the core. I'm sure it'll be fine.

MIL is really sick and its understandabley making my wife super stressed. We took her whole family (like 8 people plus significant others) to Myrtle beach this past spring as you may recall. I had no desire to go there because I'm a Gulf Coast Man, however, it was a lot cheaper to get a place for that many people down there so, whatever. WELL NOWWW they have booked themselves a place outside of Destin for the beginning of next month and GUESS WHO DEMANDS WE GO WITH THEM THATS RIGHT MY WIFE. So now dad is trying to plan a vacation on 2 weeks notice and can't say a damn negative thing about it due to the circumstances I mentioned at the beginning of this paragraph. Life's a beach lol

Counterpoint: highest percentage (not all of course) of people who are dying from these things are low-life junkies. So there is some correlation to making bad life choices too.
I actually went back and listened to most of Ellen/Megan Calipari and Chantel Stoops on with Jen Nime and Mrs. Tyler. It was good. Other than that, I'm listening to books on Audible. I mentioned Heads in Beds and now I've just started Hillbilly Elegy. I would rather read, but that puts me to sleep so I listen while I am driving around and while I'm exercising.

They're culpable in their practices that offer kick backs to doctors to prescribe brand X but so are the patients who are all too willing to overstate their pain knowing they'll get the good stuff.

Counterpoint: The problem appears to be regional. I would argue that means that while doctors made the prescriptions, people were taking it recreationally first, and then going to doctors because they knew they'd get a prescription (e.g, Pain Clinics). It's not like people in our region just seem to get hurt more than the average person and require pain pills.
I think it starts with education. There's obviously many layers to it but to shout that it's all because of doctors is not only false but lazy. Most abusers are 18-25 and I highly doubt they're going to get Oxycontin from their doctors for their back pain, chronic arthritis or whatever old people **** befalls us as time goes on. Their friends get a hold of some, give to their friends and then it becomes a means of obtaining to keep getting high. Again, when do you hold someone personally accountable for their actions? If a 22 year old drinks a bottle of bleach, are you going to blame Wal-Mart for selling that to them?

Thought Mo Egger was solid last week as a fill in on KSR. His take about college bball needing to go to 4 on 4 was awful but he had a point that the college game in general sucks *** and has become a sport that most of country only watches in March because of coaches micromanaging and mucking up the game with junk zones.

From an addict standpoint, it's a lot better value, it's a lot easier to get ahold of, and a lot easier to hide/pass a drug test/etc.
