How far would a generic NCAA D1 team (NKU, Lipscomb etc.) go with LBJ in prime on the team.

Would he be able to take a mid major to the FF / Championship? He elevates others around him better than anyone I have seen in my 46 years.

It depends on a few things. How bad are his teammates? He can't do it all himself. Carmelo had some help. If you can get him a decent shooter and a decent big, then you would have a decent chance, assuming Higgins isn't the referee

No is the simple answer. This is a team sport and one superstar isn't overcoming the other players deficiencies. In the NBA he is surrounded with talent. At a midmajor he would be surrounded with very average college players. Plus you're watching a mature LBJ, the 19 year old version wasn't like that.

Carmelo wasn't on a midmajor.

Well, almost 40 years ago one of the all-time legends took a has-been group to the final game. But there are more good teams now, so I think he could certainly get them to the Elite-8, with a chance at the title.

If he was playing the wrong team and got the Zack Collins treatment Collins got against UNC, it would not matter. I felt like the referees did all they could for UNC to win it this year. I think the same can be said when Duke beat Maryland and Arizona to win the title.

What about a prime Jordan, what about a prime Wilt, prime Shaq, and on and on and on. Who the heck knows. No one does.

In his prime?
He'd score every time down the court. Few in the nba can guard him and they're grown men. Nobody on the college level could do anything with him.

He'd win the championship. Question is would they go undefeated.

Well considering he took a garbage cavs teams to the finals in his 4th yr at age 22, id say he could win a few games

I just dont know with how spacing is in college how he'd fare on a low level team. He is an all time great though and if you get Lebron at his skill level now he'd make any team an instant contender. But idk if the could win against top flight competition regularly in the tourney... i guess it all depends if he gets the Duke treatment with an easy road to the FF

What do you mean his prime? I'm not that big on LBJ. IMO (don't crucify me LBJ fans, just calling it based on how I see it) he gets the most favorable treatment from refs of any player ever in the history of the game at any level (if not for said treatment i a million percent believe he'd only have one title, his teammates get a favorable treatment too because the league wants Lebron' teams to win) his fouls per 48 and foul outs are off the charts compared to the leagues superstars past and present especially for someone who plays as physical as he does, so you can't really use the treatment all superstars get argument because for LBJ its on a whole nother level than just superstar treatment its way more than just the superstar treatment.

Everyone in the 90's, in an era where you'd have to tackle someone to get called for a foul, got called for more fouls per 48 than Lebron in an era where ticky tack calls are at an all time high. Players who's style involves no contact whatsoever average more fouls per 48 than Lebron. He's the most protected player I've ever seen because the league can't really afford to have him get hurt so they don't really allow anyone to play defense on him, if you breathe on him it's a foul. He's allowed at least 8 steps no matter what.

The league kinda built Lebron's legacy IMO by helping him win more titles than deserved. Ray Allen's 3 is a garbage time bucket if they call that game fairly. But then if they called it fairly there'd be less games, which means less ratings and less money. Less ratings for next season bc a lot of people wouldn't be as interested if Lebron the face of the NBA got called for what everyone else gets called for therefor erasing championships from his resume and losing some fans interest. He got called for a travel tonight and I was in absolute shock I couldn't believe it, it was a call I've never seen made on him before. He took like 7 steps and they actually called a travel and Lebron had never looked more confused.

He's allowed to take 8 or 9 steps every time he goes to the rim but everyone else gets 4 at max 5 unless you're a teammate of his. With that said he's playing his best ball right now. So he's still in his prime. But my point is if he played in college. He'd be by far the best. But it'd take him a long while to get used to only being allowed 2-3 steps as apposed to his usual 8 or 9 steps so if games were called correctly he'd get called for a ton of travels, and he probably wouldn't be as protected from the NCAA like he is with the NBA in this hypothetical scenario. So that would take a lot of the effectiveness of his game out of the equation if you don't let him travel and if you let the defense actually play legal defense and if you actually call fouls on Lebron when he shoves people which is never called in the NBA as far as Lebron goes.

(didn't watch much of the game tonight but of the few minutes I did watch, he blantantly shoved jaylen brown out of the way for rebound, went up with the putback and got foul called and 2 FT's then did a shimmy because he's used to getting away with shoving players in the back and then gettin a foul called to go to the line when he shouldn't have even had the ball to begin with, even Reggie miller said something about it). And this type of stuff is why I can hardly watch the NBA, for the most part the officiating is perfect league wide, but it's as if Lebron and teammates play (mostly Lebron, unless it's crunch time then his whole team gets the calls) by a different rule book than everyone else so for me it makes the game no fun for me to watch when you feel like the outcomes a lot of the time are predetermined.

With that said though he would still easily make an F4 on a lot of mid major teams once he got used to playing basketball without traveling or being protected. But at the same time I think he'd struggle a ton only being allowed 2-4 steps. He's very used to taking 8 steps because if they don't call it then you're going to evolve your game around that and base all your moves off being allowed 8-9 steps no matter what.

Jesus Christ. This is why LeBron haters can't be apart of any conversation involving the man, they just go on and on and on about why he's not the best and how he walks on every play and then they'll say he flops and it never ends.

It's funny your comeback is I'm a Lebron hater. When in fact I could care less that he gets extremely favorable treatment. My team sucks and someone has to win so I could really care less my team is years from winning and my team besides UK players is all I care about. I am in no way shape or form a Lebron hater was just explaining why the NBA isn't as fun to me anymore. Does that make me a Lebron hater when I have no hatred or even dislike towards him? I even own a couple pair of Lebrons to hoop in. I don't care looking at the foul stats and posting them. But go check if you wanna see how outrageously skewed it is, the evidence is there.

It's absolutely comedy that people call me a hater when I just explain things the way I see it with literally not a single shred of dislike towards him I'm just not all that big on him and that's why. This is what I see when watching the NBA. It's called the opinion i formed with what my 2 eyes have seen over the years.

He's just a superior player, of course he's going to get calls. Go post another book of hate.

Lebron was the best 18yr old player in the history of the game bar none. He would have been as dominant against 18-22 yr olds in college as he is now in the NBA.

No doubt in my mind Ohio St wins the title in 04 if he's on the team.

Lol zero hatred in my post it's called honesty. If I was a Lebron hater, I don't think 2 of the pair of shoes I hoop in would be Lebron's. But good try. Yeayea ima Lebron hater that buys his shoes. Makes no sense. But at the same time I understand why you'd be that way if you're a biased Lebron and cavs fan. When my opinion had zero bias in it. And fouls per 48 because he's a superior player?

When you play that physical of a game. More fouls should be called on him than what are. By a long shot. Especially when compared to players who play a no contact style. Even Reggie miller said sum bout Lebron getting away with shoving brown right in front of ref. Gathers rebound gets 2 FT's because he's a 'superior player' then did shimmy after getting away with a shove to the back. Is that hate, or pointing out the obvious? It's every playoff game with him. And I could care less. Done arguing it because it honestly couldn't be anymore of an unbiased opinion compared to your biased opinion. But I do have one question. If Lebron had 5 fouls in a game 7. Do you think they'd call a 6th on Lebron (he never fouls out) even if he was hacking everyone every play? Your answer here should prove your bias.

You all calling me a hater of Lebron, is like the media and everyone calling UK Fans haters after a loss due to the inexplicable calls john Higgins was making. When in fact everyone with 2 eyes saw the corruption. Hilarious.

Edit: hit a post limit so I had edit this to respond. Inside position? Boxing out? Your bias is freaking hilarious and you just proved it. Is that what you call being DIRECTLY behind someone that is boxing you out then fully extending your arm to push them out of the way? I never knew you could box someone out when the person you're boxing out is directly in front of you boxing you out. You can't even admit that one call was horrendous? Inside position? That's what you call being directly behind someone? Literally couldn't have been more directly behind brown than he was. I guarantee if a U.K. Player got away with that I would own it every single time. Thanks for 'proving yourself'. He was literally directly behind brown and straight up shoved him IN THE BACK. HOW DO YOU SHOVE SOMEONE IN THE BACK WHEN YOU HAVE 'INSIDE POSITION' WHILE BEING DIRECTLY BEHIND THE PLAYER????? So dumb man if that was a good no call in your opinion then you think Lebron never gets any calls cuz that one was as OBVIOUS AS IT GETS. And you're telling me the way I see things? Lebron hasn't fouled out in like 4 seasons. But you're right Reggie miller is a hater and full of a bias when he calls games.

To morg, care to send me your email and prove to you all the Lebron gear I own? I wouldn't buy his stuff if I was a hater. That's like saying I hate Jordan, then buying J's. Or I hate Kobe, then buying kobe's. Or I hate BBB, then buying ZO2's. The only 2 teams I hate are the warriors and spurs. I actually root for the cavs sometimes. If I was a hater I would never root for the cavs and would always pull against them. Send me your email and you'll get a pic of all my Lebron gear.
