Sports are macho by nature. You don't care about hurting feelings. You don't want to think much.

F'ing ESPN. What a disappointment.

I know I'm the biggest lefty here but their ******** even annoys me.

Now, you have all-female studios. My gawd. Name one true sports fan you know who wants to hear women talk sports.

You have the Kapernick ********, the Mizzou ********.

Why is it so hard to follow the model of your best show- College Football Gameday?

Rant over.

Pretty shocked more of us didn't just go financially balls deep into Google on day 1. Pre-ipo. Venture Capital initial funding round. Ridiculous.

Bunch of dumbasses, imo.

Lexington Green should've given Whole Foods the "Carolina Way" speech. Guilt is a great way to get... young poor kids... businesses to pass up intelligent financial moves.

Sitting in St. Louis at the Lego World Convention/Robot technology convention or whatever it's called. My daughter joined her school's club this year and she's with a very small group. So I'm chaperoning of course. And, oh boy! I just assumed it was a bunch of elementary school kids putting up their Lego displays in a hotel ballroom.

Wrong. Wrong!

This is a global event for nerds all over the world showcasing their robotic/engineering skills as well as chanting awkward "team" cheers. The opening ceremony was in the frigging Edward Jones Dome for crying out loud. (The Asians are impressive by the way) But yeah, thousands of socially awkward kids are roaming the streets of St. Louis in various cosplay outfits this weekend.

Max and UCL would love it.

I am definitely a nerd, but even I have my limits. The whole e-gaming thing, for example, makes me weep for the future of humanity.

I assume the robotic/engineering competitions have a category for cord-cutting, configuring Kodi and/or getting as many television options as possible for the lowest price.

Bengals didn't send Marvin out yesterday after the Ted Ginn 2.0 pick. I wasn't going to annoy Ken Zampese with questions... Sigh

- For the millionth time- if you idiots don't have UKO's worthless, bandwagon *** on IGNORE, that's on you. The real issue is you pricks making the rest of is aware of his miserable existence by acknowledging him. Knock it TF off.

- About that time when BBdK brags about leaving Louisville the only week living in Louisville is actually cool.

- @Geese Feeder thoughts on men's grooms party wedding attire?

- Need some summer crafties recs. Love some Gumballhead and Dogfish Tropical Ale. Taft Ale House Nellies Key Lime Caribbean Ale is the best beer in town.

- Good piece on Kevin Grevey. Wish I could have seen that dude play.

* Every time a helicopter flies overhead, Pavlov's dog kicks in and I hear "...you, YES YOU! Stand still laddy?!?"

*
9-1 road trip including 3 of 4 at that banbox Coors Field. Bullpen still sucks *** and I wouldn't doubt if UK product Joe Blanton gets jettisoned to Potomac or simply cut. Never too early to remedy, Rizzo. In the meantime, feel free to run away and hide from the rest of the East.

* Lex again this weekend. Got a couple fish on the line. And thanks to meteorologist Anth, appears perfect weather for a little day drinking. :sunglasses:[cheers]

* One or two of these poolside doesn't suck, WCC.

Chance of storms is still there but it appears it'll be scattered. Sounds like a good line is coming through tonight, apparently hail is likely, and again Sunday night.

Looks like prime baseball weather this weekend - my boys play baseball

Didn't watch a second of the NFL draft. I hate that league more and more every day.

Cal not letting this pitt transfer pull the trigger while he's here is dumb. Dumb!

Movie bracket on KSR is fun. Listening to the debates made me realize I can safely say Back to the Future is my favorite film. To me it has everything. Very high rewatchability. Still pick up little Easter eggs every time i watch it and I've seen it a zillion times. BttF2 is great as well. 3 sucks.

Tomma Jurich's power is real. Crawford with a really good article this morning but he had to preface it with how great a job that Jurich has done. Like had to mention it 2 times.

Also it seems that Jones can't mention Jurich on the radio anymore. It really is a Brad Wesley situation on Floyd Street.

My first memories of the Cats were that 1975 tournament.

Jim Duff "gets it":

One of Grevey’s close friends is Jim Duff, who also lives in the Washington, D.C. area. Duff, who also played on the UK freshman team with Grevey, has some stories about the UK great, and they both grew up in the Cincinnati area.

“Kevin and I have been in the same town our entire lives — 62 years — and are the best of friends, so I have many stories about him,” said Duff in 2016. “I guess one of my favorites is that years after the 1975 national championship game which UK lost to UCLA, Kevin met Coach Wooden at a banquet and had the courage to say to him, ‘Coach, I think if you had not announced your retirement right before that game, we would have been national champions….’

“And he was right. We had beaten Indiana’s undefeated team and it was not one of UCLA’s better teams. But Coach Wooden timed his retirement announcement to elevate his team’s play. And he was also very clever about how he got on the refs — he waited until the cameras were off during commercial breaks to work them over. In that game, though, he actually got a technical foul and he even went out on the floor yelling at them when Kevin was shooting the technical foul shot, which disturbed Kevin’s shot.

“We would have won nine out of 10 games against that team, but that isn’t how the tournament works. And just think, if we had won that one, we would have nine championships (total) and UCLA 10. I hope we pass them in our lifetime.”

Me too, Jim. I've always said if I could reverse the outcome of one UK game in my lifetime, it would be that one.

Sports-wise, passing UCLA matters to me more than anything else.
