Obviously Cal has many diehard supporters on this board. So taking the coach out of it, I can't honestly understand any UK fan that wouldn't be pissed if Diallo never plays a game at UK. It's so bizarre - he said again and again he would be at UK next year. Doesn't that piss you off if he was lying?

What's bizarre is a Duke/Northwestern fan chiming in on it.

By the way, he always said he would talk to Cal at the end of the season.

Yes, but what should we do about it? Wasting energy getting angry about it is counterproductive.

Yea, except he hasn't done that yet.

No one is happy dukie... it's the whiners blaming Cal for the kid testing the draft..

BTW is that pawn shop at Cameron still open? Lance told me they were giving $98,000 lines of credit on jewelry as long as you were a student and playing basketball....

You know that's not a UK fan, right? The wildcat in his name is northwestern.

Just another troll who has been absent since mid-March.

Come on, Brian. You know it was only 70k in credit. He put down 30k in cash.

You know, like any 22 year old college kid would do.

I dont really get your argument.

Spring football is great for early enrollees.

The bball allstar games are in the spring and you have to be in high school to attend.

Besides the footballers cant leave until they are juniors anyway.

And the kids really care about the allstar games??? Diallo didnt. If you are a 5 star hoops player and can enroll early, why WOULDNT you do what Diallo did. Hes a genius. He bypassed his freshman year that guys like Davis, Wall, Cousins were forced to play and is off to make a bunch of money without risking injury, exposing weaknesses, etc.

My point is, why wouldnt more college kids do this? The football numbers only prove my point further.

Let's go back to the HS to NBA. Better for everyone involved.

Not really. Last year there were 36 5 star football recruits, and 10 of them were early enrollees. Hell, Ohio State had 10 of their 21 recruits enroll early. There are 24 5star hoops recruits each year, not that far off from the 36 5stars football produced this year. So, I ran the numbers and more than 1 in 4 5stars are early enrollees out of 36. In 2016 there were only 25 5star football recruits, 8 enrolled early.

And I this is an easy way to bypass the one and done rule for hoops stars. Again, why can greater than 1 in 4 5 star football recruits enroll early, but not hoops players?? I think this will become a trend.
You are missing the major reason why players enroll early thus far in hoops, to bypass the system of waiting to declare to the draft (only 2 have done it so far.. maker & Hami). The current nba agreement not only states one year out of High School, but ALSO be 19 years old by feb 24 of that draft season. So my question to you is now, How many EARLY HIGH SCHOOL GRADS will 19 by feb 24 in order to be eligible for the draft early.

I'll wait.

I kind of get the feeling that this was Cal's evil genius plan all along to start Brad at the 2 next year.

Or is Brad testing the waters now too?

Part of me would be entertained if Brad put out a statement about entering the draft, only to follow it up the next hour with Bamba committing and Diallo taking out his name. Cal's way of playing some of our fans who are losing their minds right now.

I think you are missing some big issues.

Diallo is beyond a senior, he is already 19.

NBA requires one year and a age limit.

A LOT of this thread has been an embarrassment to RIVALS, #BBN and to UK basketball "fans".

WHATEVER the final decision(s) that will be made by ANY of these players and their families we "normal" fans will still all have to wake up, go to work, pay our bills, take care of our families.

These players AND their families couldn't care less about any of our opinions displayed on the message board by true UK fans, trolls or just the "baiters" in this thread. If any of these players stay in the draft or return to the team the "true" UK fans on this board will still be rooting for them next season and the trolls and the "baiters" will have to crawl back to their "mom's" basement or wherever!

I swear if he stays in the draft and UK gets nothing out of this deal honestly people have to look at CAL and say WTF!

As pro-Calipari as I am and as much as I defend Cal, I would have to agree with you on this. It would really make me question some things if he stays in the draft and I think it would cause a pretty big backlash on Cal. Rightfully so too, IMO. A kid just comes to UK and gets to use all of the coaching and facilities that we have to offer the players, yet never plays a minute on the team and then darts for the draft. What does the school get from this situation?

Losing out on other recruits because we already had Diallo for next year? Losing out on Bamba cause Fiallo won't be here? Having a really down year next year cause we thought we had Diallo for next year, so we didn't go after any other recruits? Maybe all of the above?

Not a good look for Cal if he does in fact leave. I guess he would even up himself with a HAD (Half and Done).

It's really mind-boggling how little the media made of that. There was never anything close to an explanation by Duke, and they promised to cooperate and get to the bottom of it. That was pretty much the end of it. I don't think I've heard one pundit even bring it up in years. Clearest case of a double standard that you could ask for.

You bringing wife photos into the conversation is not even funny.

How about you post one of your wife then we can talk apples to apples or in @irishcat1965 's case... melons to melons.

Otherwise be better than that.

At least you got the sex correct. Definitely not homely looking, partner at a large firm, raking in a ton. No pic necessary.
