I just bet they have have Bamba. Bolden had minutes galore coming next year....unless they landed Bamba. No way he transfers unless he knows someone is coming in to take his minutes. Guys we're screwed if we don't get Bamba and Bam leaves. Heck we may lose Bam, Hump and lose Bamba.

None of those games it's up out mentioned willl have zero impact on bamba of he comes he starts no questions asked. Bolden does intrigue me. Ky apparently was his choice till Mom stepped in . If he reaches out to cal I could see cal taking him.
I'm banking on Cal selling him on much better competition in practice at UK than he'd get at Duke.
As a UConn fan who followed Hamidou recruiting closely I can practically guarantee you Bamba will be going to UK.

I don't think guys like Giles, Bolden, VJ King, etc look too deep into the situations at Duke, UL, etc. They must just go by Duke being popular on ESPN and must look at coach K and Pitino and think 'wow, I can play for a HOF coach.' They must not study very deeply how these coaches have 'used' so many players. It appears Bamba may be falling in the same trap. Is there nobody in his life to advise him correctly?
True.. But a few differences.
1. Kansas plays in a conference that bends over for them.. The ACC is NOT the Big12.
2. Kansas had a lot of experience.
3. It's not like Kansas didn't have an underwhelming tournament getting worked by Oregon.
4. POY frank mason and possible #1 pick in Jackson. If Kansas did just have one more front court guy.. Even a 4-star player.. They probably win the title.
Can't our fans stop worshiping Duke? They act as though Duke only has to snap their fingers and bam, any recruit is theirs. How many of our MCD's spurned Duke to attend UK? Did K spurn Monk and Fox? Murray, AD, Wall, MKG etc?.

There is not a front court in the nation that doesn't give Bamba a the time he wanted. This instead is very good news for us with Bamba! That kid super super smart. The decision with Guiles, Oden going lower in the draft after s season at duke. Now Bolden falling off the draft boards after being projected as high as 7th now leaving. A smart kid like that will take it to mean that K just saying we are joining the one and done game is not the same as doing it. Only coach to win with and get to multiple final four and win a championship is Cal!
Be excited for bamba! However on the Knox front to me it looks like Knox is theirs. If Knox isn't at duke then Carter and Bolden play together Duval at the one Alan or Kennard at the 2 one will leave and Jackson. Now I see a front court of Carter Knox Jackson. I'd be okay with this. Many feel Duke has done this to other teams for years.
There's a legend that Shane battier came to UK's big blue madness back in 97 to recruit for Duke.
For example Carter to Duke was the worst kept secret in high school bball for months. Yet he insisted on dragging it out. And has said several times in interviews since he has no idea why we stopped recruiting him. Yeah right. Either his high school or AAU coaches likely spilled the beans to Cal.

Lol, not happening. TJ mentioned something about this a while back. I guess it was about a month ago. Said "Cal wouldn't even let Bolden walk onto the team at this point", which I get. Cal can't let it appear to be okay to choose against UK, go to Duke, and decide that after they don't like it there, he will let them transfer to UK. Can't do that.
He looked unplayable in the few minutes he did get at Duke this year. Looked like a giant oaf with zero coordination. He may turn out to be a decent college big in time, but he's essentially a project at this point.
Cal wont even take his call . We are loaded inside without Bamba and when we add him , which we will, our depth will unheard of inside. Bolden aint even Humphries good.

Why would Bamba and Bolden be mutually exclusive? Bolden would have to sit out a year due to transfer rules.

True, if Bamba wants to play the 4, we'd probably start Hump or Richards if he's ready, but I would suspect not. Gabriel backing up Bamba. Vanderbilt and Washington sharing the 3 spot. Green and Diallo at 1 and 2. Knox would really complicate things and I don't think we get him and Bamba. Too many bodies fighting for 2 spots.
Don't forget Jeter. He was 11th in one of the scouting services. That's 2 bigs in the last 3 yrs who were in the Top 15 and totally fizzled out. And they are not going to play him alongside Carter.

I don't think this decision has anything to do with Bamba. Maybe Duke is pushing for it thinking it matters, but Bolden has been a weird one since the beginning. Bamba not committing to UK would be shocking to me, but with this late run at OAD by Duke it's possible I guess. At this point in actually wondering if K is playing dirty breaking rules knowing they won't touch him. If you were Capel and knew this, wouldn't you? Something to consider. They certainly don't have a good track record with OAD's all together and with bigs it's just a joke. Why would Bamba seriously go there?

Was never sure why Cal ever wanted Bolden. He wasn't that highly regarded on this board until he became a pawn in who would have the #1 recruiting class.
He turned out to match his early projection. Certainly Cal would have no interest now.
Maybe Cal was hoping he could get something out of Bolden at the 5 with Bam at the 4. Could explain the absolute mystery of not wanting Allen over Bolden as Allen was clearly a 4.
