I've always said that the waffle house method of employees screaming at each other and then your meal automatically coming out prompt and delicious is as impressive as it gets for the line-cook genre. Vanilla Coke just adds to the greatness.

I'll be missing (watching) my first entire Kentucky Basketball game -- honestly that I can remember in my entire adult life -- on Saturday. Went ahead and signed up for a little Icebreaker Golf Tourney this morning that I'd previously declined b/c I'm a loser who plans my entire life around UK Athletics.

I'm curious how much they tipped. If I was worth 56 billion, I'd feel the need to tip thousands of dollars every time I went out, regardless of whether the service was good or not.

Grab a couple sharp shooters in the 50+ range every year and let them develop without feeling like they have to bolt. I don't see a reason to pick up those guys who either aren't massive or can shoot. We should be able to hand pick those dudes.

- Mid First Rounder = GTFO
- In the 20s = consider you're upside. Can you realistically improve your stock?
- Late first rounder = consider your upside. Can you realistically improve your stock? Do you have a first round guarantee?
- Second rounder = are you too stupid or lazy to get your degree? If Yes: go. If No: Stay, after you graduate go play pro ball somewhere for the next 5-10 until your mediocre career is over, and then milk the teet of UK fans for life.

In that late first round camp, I'd argue the only dudes who should stick around are freak athletes who need to work on basketball / life skills (e.g., WCS, Wenyon). Spend some time in college in a supportive environment, learn to be "the man", and develop some additional moves. Those are the guys who could make the leap and move much higher in the draft.

If D Lamb would've graduated from Kentucky, with possibly another title, and as one of the best 2 guards we've ever had here, would he be eating hotel room service on Cal's dime and refusing to come out? College educations are stupid.
Especially if he's at Kentucky. It's like you're expected to go after a year, and if you don't, you're a failure. It's because of this that guys like Dakari and Teague left before they should've. Of course, that approach also got Booker and Ulis drafted higher and quicker than anybody ever thought they would.
That's Cal's business model, and it's obviously worked for him, even if it does have its drawbacks.

A guaranteed contract at lottery pick prices would probably have been worth the risk for him.
Not going to Europe or Israel and making $75-150k (often tax free) for 10+ years is a bigger mistake than entering the NBA draft early. I know Rome doesn't have the same allure for a young D Lamb eat as it does your average GYEROman, but that's just straight up ignorant.
