The jokes on us. Writers always poke fun at UK fans for wanting to be undefeated or win a title every year...and these posts hammering Cal are proof.

If you're complaining about our coach, find me another that can make UK a title contender 90% of the time. The only coach that can compare is Coach K, and he's not going anywhere.

This is the best coach UK has ever had and a good portion of you are acting like spoiled brats. We're worse than Alabama fans.

Could you imagine how thrilled Indiana or UL fans would be to have this type of success since his hire? Perspective, look it up.

We're not saying go undefeated. I agree, those expectations are incredibly stupid.

What many of us are saying though, don't go into SEC play and lose 3 of the past 4 games, and nearly drop the game against Georgia too, the only win in that span of time.

It isn't about not having some absurdly unbeatable team, it's that, for the past month now, this team has looked like a bubble team.

Don't disagree generally, but Rupp is still our best coach ever. I think Cal can coach and coach well, it's just that sometimes the one-and-dones you get lack the required amount of skill, pride, and heart to be winners. You can only do so much as a coach when players are deficient like these. Now, maybe you hit Call on the recruiting angle for not looking at other guys instead of these, but I'm not going to do that. We'll just get 'em next year.

You think Cal is intentionally throwing the games? Im pretty sure he wants to win MORE than we do, his life does revolve around it.

We're going to have good years, we're going to have bad years. People just need to accept that we're not as good as they wished EVERY single season.

Comparing Rupp to Cal is pointless. How many teams were great when Rupp was winning? UCLA was great, who else? San Francisco, Dartmouth? Competition was thin in those days. Its much more impressive to win a title today than 60 years ago.

We are not title contenders 90% of the time. Lol. Maybe 20%.
We've been every year, except the Noel season. This year, for the first 3 months we looked the best. Lately, we've dropped off....but nearly every year a title isn't out of the question.

We weren't Title contenders last year either. We really weren't in 2011 or 2014 either..we just got hot at the right time and made a run..with a little luck involved as well.

Teams often win titles that way. I call that a title contender. Using your criteria, our 98 team wasn't a title contender. That team just got hot and had a lot of luck.

hahaa!! we were in the final four with ONE shot away from winning it all, and we weren't title contenders?? If Liggins hits that 3, we play Butler to win it all, and we win that easy. This is great, youre the ones I'm talking about.

You're the type of guy that thinks that if UK isn't undefeated, winning every game by 40, we're not contending for a title. Read the original post again, its for you. Perspective, get some.

True. But for 90% of the season if not a little more, we weren't..but then we were there contending for it.

Now hold on a minute. You say Cal wants to win MORE than we do ? I assume you're just trying to prove your point but there are fans that want UK to win so bad that they have shrines dedicated to UK basketball or save every penny from damn near poverty level income to get upper level tickets to a UK game once in their lifetime just so they can watch them play in person. I know Cal wants to win but he makes eight million dollars a year to be the UK coach and he shakes off losses pretty quickly these days. Cal's all good in my book but if he coached with the passion that 99% of the BBN has he may be able to turn this season around.

2 things you have to remember.
1) Kentucky is going to lose more games. This year and next year, it'll be fine.
2) The NCAA tourney isn't even. Upsets happen and the true best team doesn't win every year.

You call people idiots to start a thread and then degrade what Adolph rupp did for our program in the same thread. That makes no damn sense to me.

Correct. Im not sure you've played sports or coached, but I can assure you that the people that actually train and have their life revolve around the sport usually want to win much more than any fan.
Cal and these kids spend every waking moment making themselves better so that they WIN. Im a huge fan, I go to a lot of games....but they're much more emotionally involved than I could ever be.
Yeah, Cal shakes off a loss better than fans because he has class. He's accepted that you can't win every single game, unlike our fanbase.

Not so much degrade, just comparing a title from the 50's to now is quite a bit different. Its like football. I think Saban winning titles now is more impressive that Bear Bryant in his day. Its more difficult to win a title in either sport right now.

Rupp was a great coach and cal is a great coach. Cal will turn things around and some of those that's mad at him now will be praising him when he gets things right.

Yes. We should all enjoy a couple blow
Our games a year. Jesus.
Are you a chick, exaggerate much?
Nobody said you should enjoy it. Just have some perspective on where we sit. We're having a terrible year, so terrible that we're in the top 25. Where are the people that wanted Tubby to stay? I bet you're one of the ones that complain if we win a title by a last second basket.

No I've been critical of Cal over the last week, but still wouldn't want anyone else coaching here right now. There's a difference in criticism and being a hater. I'm just saying that you sound like a lot of Louisville fans I know who act like Calipari has been a complete failure here because he hasnt won 4 titles. Saying the 2011 and 2014 teams weren't title contenders is ridiculous.

Fair enough. I'm a UK fan through and through though. But what I was trying to say is that throughout 90+% of both of those seasons, they really weren't Title contenders..or didn't play or look like one, I mean. They weren't 12 or 15 UK teams dominate..for sure. UK was a 10 loss team in 14 heading into the NCAA Tournament..they were an 8 loss team in 11 heading into the NCAA Tournament. Nobody..even us UK fans saw either of those teams as Title contenders until they were there in the Final 4..and at that point, they were arguably the favorites. UK with the help of some questionable coaching from Coach Cal didn't finish the job after the "hard part" (Getting there) was accomplished.

The problem with your logic is that under Tubby, it was the other way around. He often had UK playing like title contenders during the season but those teams didn't make the FF. Cal has his team peaking in March. I would rather peak in March than in January or even February.

True. I guess I'm just greedy as all hell. I want the domination, no questions asked..best team in the land 38-2 2012 or 34-2 1996 teams far more than what's realistic. But I definitely wish we had at least one more Title from 11, 14, or 15.
