Just mentioned on KSR that this board doesn't represent fan base well, but Twitter is where the REAL fans are... Says it's basically a bunch of old timers on here griping. The thing is most of us on that thread were pretty reasonable

That's not really what he said -- he mentioned that sometimes things he says are repeated on this board and taken out of context, and folks on message boards

Let's be honest here...this board or any message board isn't what it used to be. There is a ton of silly bickering and griping on here. Matt is pretty much spot on with what he said
I wonder if he realizes that people can read message boards and use twitter. I think part of his problem is the volume this board does.

Anybody who argues there aren't a lot of ******** around here is probably one of them. There's also a lot of good posters too, so I guess it's what you chose to focus on and Jones needs to stir the pot to get everybody's attention. This place is pretty tame compared to what his comment section has been like in the past.
No he got his feelings hurt when fans made a thread about his post game comments. Said these were the glory days and we'll never see a better run at UK. 1 title in 7 years doesn't seem impossible to me...

Analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the team and discussing where they can get better is what I enjoy. It's a part of watching/enjoying the growth and evolution of the team.
I know a lot of people on the board thing the only valid opinion is "Willis sure did try hard tonight."
But If we're bringing Matt into it, Matt always points out areas of weakness. Fox shoots too many 18 foot jumpers.

He didn't say the "real fans" are on Twitter and other platforms, he said younger fans don't frequent message boards as much as those other things. OP was a slanted, and misleading post.
People like to say if you don't like KSR, don't patronize it. The same could be said about this board.
Before I signed up to this site I was on a news group, alt.college.basketball.uk (I think) That group was more like the paddock.......
I have never liked Matt Jones and his little annoying voice. I never will either. What he says is and always has been irrelevant to me. However, I do remember him posting on here years ago seeking everyone's approval wanting them to think he had all these inside sources. He's too big now lol. In fact any time someone mentions his name they lose credibility with me.
Collectively the board doesn't represent what each of us are individually,,that being die hard,true blue fans.All of us to a degree take on different personalities here than we have in our day to day lives.Some do it more than others.
Oldtimers get a bad rap,yeah we have been around longer and tend to compare what we see to what we have seen in the past maybe more than we should.We have invested many years of our lives into being UK fans.We have listened to Cawood on many a cold night in rural Kentucky,we went down the glory road with Coach Rupp and we don't need Matt Jones to tell us a damn thing about what kind of fans we are or how to be a fan. Jones is only relevant because of his content(UK basketball and football) he is smart enough to make a living by talking about something many of us have followed longer than he has been alive,he is privy to information because of his position as part of the media,but he has no more understanding of what UK basketball means to us oldtimers than the average guy walking the street

So, you don't like him and didn't like his posting before, and now that he doesn't much anymore, you don't like that either?
It is considered free speech. Matt has a point of view and is entitled to it, and so do I . I may be old, I may *****, but I am protected by the same rights that Matt is .
