Good lord at some of the overreaction. When I said don't overreact over the wins vs bad teams the same people still overreacted. Now I'm saying don't go on the deep end after this loss (which i said would happen because some people are either on one end of the spectrum or the other)
I know they have more than 2. #13 is a freshman as well. Plus they were on the road for their first time as a collegian. Holiday is a soph. They are young.
We had four freshmen and a sophomore on the floor for a lot of the game. They are only 7 games out of HS. At the first of the year, I thought we would lose a couple of games early, and a couple of road games early in the conference. This team gets it a lot better than most. By the middle of Feb. see if this team isn't a heck of a lot better. It wasn't until the last 3-4 games in the regular conference schedule before the 2013 team figured it out. They will be fine. By the time they are almost sophs, before the tournament, they will be tough to beat.
They are just as young IMO. UK will improve undoubtedly. Not saying they won't. I believe they will.
You know I sat back to see what sort of replies I would get. To the one guy calling out my enervation you have no idea how old I am. Next, what I learn every season about our fanbase is they are incapable of discussion after a loss. If someone posts something they don't like it's "you're and idiot" "you're no fan" you're whatever. Each one of you is pissed as I am about the loss and each of you is concerned about what this team is as opposed to what you thought it was. This is a red flag for everyone....if it's not then you don't know anything about sports in general. Defense is where it's at. You don't defend. You don't win. No one can tell me that you have seen a U.K. Team give up 97 points at home to a team then make a significant match run much less a championship. That 2014 that made the run from an 8 seed played friggin defense. Project your anger right here I don't care but the real anger is the concern you guys have about this season now.

UK is always young. Not questioning that. UCLA is young as well. If it makes you feel better to think they are not, have at it. UK lost to UCLA because of those freshman.

We had a player step out of bounds four times today in the same spot, could have been the difference in the game. Ucla is very good, they will get beat 2-3 times this year at the most. We are not going to bully that team. But we can beat them if we play them in march but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if someone knocks them off first. Our freshman are soft on defense, hopefully that will change.
They will be. More upside than ever with this team (seeing as it's Dec 3).

in 2012 we lost in game nine to Indiana. In 2014 we lost game 9. 2013 no one cares and we all know what happened in 2015. Point is, those two teams lost early as well and we needed up in the championship game both years. We just need to keep calm unless it becomes a huge problem. I'm not going to overreact to one loss early in the year

What happens now has an impact on march. Maybe the one guy is right in comparing this team to 2015 Duke. Their offense was fluid and their defense sucked until late season when they made their run. We need to get a favorable draw in NCAA to make a run.

Actually that 2014 team gave up more PPP in tournament games than any other team in the history of Ken Pom to get to a championship game. That team got to the title game by having ridiculous hot streak on offense. We were extremely efficient offensively in that tournament run, that's what got us there.
Nah man I have a knack for seeing problems before they blow up. I coach at a high level and always analyzing. You guys don't live and breath sports for a profession so you look at it as a fan. Can't even watch my kid play anything with out analysis. You guys can't discuss honest assessments bc of your blue tinted glasses and most of you can't refute me so you just attack.
Our team has some big deficiencies and if you don't see that now then don't be suprised when your expectations aren't fulfilled
