ESPN Piece on KAT

Yet as with every dialectic, a new condition has emerged -- and because frontcourt players are smaller than ever, there's a greater advantage than ever to be gained by being big. Towns' capacity to play big and small, inside and outside, to thrive in both one-on-one basketball and in the confines of a fluid system, make him the evolutionary realization of the big man at the moment the league's historical trends are converging.

"His skill set is so unique for a 7-footer," says Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau. "He can shoot the 3 with ease from all over the floor -- from the corners, from above the break, from the top of the key. He can put it on the floor. He can change direction. He can Euro-step. He can play back to the basket. He can play a face-up combo game. You can pick-and-roll with him where he's the screener. You can pick-and-roll with him where he's the ball handler. He has guardlike skills. He has great vision. He has playmaking ability. There's a defensive component and there's a drive to be great."

^Agreed, clark.

-Lol at Rich in sweater and gingham at his little girl's birth. I believe I was in a t-shirt and gym shorts after about 15 hours laying on a couch waiting, massaging, getting yelled at, feeling helpless. Hadn't showered or slept in 36 hours.

-Really dug in deep for that loss guys. Didn't watch a second. Pretended it didn't exist. Watched a combo of "Flip or Flop" and "Shipping Wars" to avoid it until Sloot tried to pull the old jinx and tell me the score. Silly hussy. Bombed a couple melatonin and read about 3 chapters of 'The Great Bridge' to avoid twitter. Then tossed an turned until 4 with weird dreams about Houston blowing the lead Sloot was talking about, me dreaming I was checking my phone and they won by 1, etc. Seriously restless dreaming about it all night. Finally at 4 I actually woke up. Rolled over, saw they got smoked, and couldn't really get back to sleep because of it. F*ck those dbags. If I saw sherriff talk about Michigan's schedule one more time.

-Pulling a BBdk, worked too hard lately. gym at noon and calling it after that.

-Watching UL fans and obnoxious politards cry for 2 weeks may have been too much to ask for.

-"Uninteresting. Common. Predictable. In a word, dull." Good stuff.

-Congrats, Richie!

Really hope Cal can pull both Green and Young. This is realy, really going to piss off Syracuse. Which, you know I love. Scared things are trending to far positive right now.

Was, in our view, head and shoulders the best point guard on the during the USA Basketball tryouts. College coach's dream. Great combination of toughness, smarts and unselfishness. Plays with confidence and poise. Lack of size limits his upside at the NBA level, but certainly doesn't rule him out depending on how his college career evolves.

I'm a winterball but this weather is just intoxicating. Something about the warmth, sunshine, and fall colors.

Or, I am just in a temporary euphoric state.

Fayette County's burn ban means no grilling or open fire cooking at Commonwealth Stadium this Saturday.

I guess that also includes dumpster fires. Good news!

Congrats Rich & momma, good stuff there! :)

- 8th and final trip of the year to DC this past week. Every time I'm there I'm more enamored with the place. Would move in a heartbeat if COL wasn't as ridiculous as it is. Place is just a click or two lower than Manhattan in most areas I'd want to reside.

- Watched the MSU game from a local watering hole in Arlington without any gear on, so made it interesting to take in the natives true feelings on #bbn. A lot of comments about how Kentucky always reloads, the impressiveness of Fox & Monk, the awe of how are fans travel. Blinds were wide open for that tilt.

- Echo UCL on hockey being a fantastic watch live. First time at an NHL game and it delivered. No stoppage for penalties or replay. Timeouts don't exist. Substitutions happen in game-play. In & out in a cool 2:15. Think most in here would hit up 3-5 games a year for something fun to do.

Two highlights from the night were a bunch of 8-10 year olds playing a quick game between the first & second period. Those little tykes were skating for a good 5 minutes passing the puck around, cutting and turning. Couldn't believe one didn't wipe out.

Pork nachos was the other. Straight :fire::fire:

- It's like a morgue in the office for a few folks, including one prominent uofl blogger that happens sit near uncle bonz. Nice guy but can't help but feed off his misery this morning :pimp:

- So, umm...Austin Peay tomorrow eh? Get ish right and no injuries and move on to the Governor Cup.

-I said to B$ this morning, it looks like Richie just rolled in from a game or something to the birth. LOL. I hope you are relaxing in something more comfy now. She's beautiful.

-I wasn't watching the game either, just so happened to check the score when it was 24-0 and I didn't know what to do. So I very quietly whispered to Anth asking if he had seen the score. I was convinced the events would turn and they would win, but I turned it on after Anth went to bed anyways. I swear it looked like they were intentionally throwing the game. 11 sacks of LAMAR? Lots of just falling down (not just by the lineman), not catching balls, or really giving effort, etc. It was weird.

I preface this by saying I fully expect UL to get ish right in 2 weeks, and I didn't see Houston do much against UL that matched up with what UK does necessarily, but...

When you have a team that is consistently ranked high in "penalties per game", your head coach is a great football mind/terrible person, your program lets players tweet out about "disrespect" over rankings that aren't even final yet- it's a classic recipe for a weak minded effort like you saw last night. Honestly reminds me of UC basketball's consistent under performing in the NCAAT every year. Or, unfortunately, the Bengals in the playoffs.

Well obviously it's the fact that UL lost but also should be noted that winter is f*cking dumb and anything above 70 degrees with sunset later than 7:30 is just better. Not really disputable to be honest. If you want a winter fix, go to somewhere cold where chunky pale people reside and talk with a dumb accent.
