Thursday Randos:

-Golf lesson this evening...marcus welby get some swing thoughts to work on while I'm out piddling every evening. This weather has faked me into thinking it's still golf season, when my clubs have always gone in the trunk after the Eli for the most part. Assume that will change now w/ my situation.

-House coming along, still plenty of boxes -- but mostly just getting the walls decorated and making it 'home'. Assume this will take months. Again, good news for me is she likes to do this crap alone and with her mom, so I get zero resistance when I say I'm bouncing for the weekend, as I am Friday.

-Little brother is coming to Lexington for the weekend....Uncle got a few rooms downtown at the Hilton for Fri/Sat, is going to take him out to BW, then Keeneland & the Game for the KY Double on Saturday. Had to pass on Keeneland, but may head down for dinner tomorrow...anyone gonna be out and about? Belle's?

-Louisville Peeps: Recs on fencing? Have estimates from Hartlage & Okolona fence, would like a few more. Didn't have the best experience with Cardinal on our last fence, suggestions appreciated.

-Costco :fire: Some quality/comfy dog beds in there, little rascals are loving their new sleeping arrangements.

-Sounds like nothing else is going to happen to UofL, of course. Infuriates me that Cal had such bad timing with his stuff and carries it with him forever. 100% chance those Final 4s wouldn't have been removed today, based on what's happening with all these other programs.

-Nice phone call and chat from PTI(pti) last night. First one in (years?)... Back when he was in Knoxville, it was a weekly thing, miss that. Not a phone guy by any stretch, but fun to catch up once in awhile with a real conversation.

Gross.

Like to think Monk/Briscoe will be 1st teamers, but then again, I guess you can't make the entire squad UK guys. Also, glad to see JJ Frazier is still playing, good grief.

-Miss St by 9 Saturday.

-Dateline: 'A Dangerous Man' -- was a damn good one. That story could easily be made into a motion picture. :100points:

-While this weather is , my allergies :weary: .

-Pool table is the most classic, but my #1 basement wish list item:

Such a fun game, easy to play with a beer in hand, and pretty much anyone can play well enough to form some kind of game, unlike pool/ping pong

-Getting into the horsey gambol myself a little of late, just what I need. :flushed: Good look on that one yesterday, Anth.

#early

She's unreal of course, but her voice/character on Mad Men makes me see her less worshipy than I probably should, she was just awful. Haven't seen her in anything else, unfortunately. #shocker.

PTI, did you or Brett delete your post calling him a plagiarist?

I mean, you are 100% right. Almost everything "funny" he posts is a straight rip from somewhere else.

Is that Adrian's little brother or his twin?

I'll take you up on the roof Saturday night, provided there is something to celebrate.

He must have. That's ridiculous.

BretB straight up plagarized from the Twittersphere.

His post yesterday:

Just tried to kill a roach with Axe Body Spray, now it's name is Joshua and he won't shut up about crossfit.

Probably just a coincidence.

We're having a new fence put up and getting estimates as well. I've done small wooden fences before but some of the posts on this one will have to go into concrete and im not gonna mess with all that myself and eff it up. The range of prices we've got are literally thousands of dollars apart. If you just want a simple setup, find you a handyman willing to do an after hours cash job.

Wife's friend and her toddler are leaving today- admittedly it was pretty fun having this kid around. She seemed to be an outlier baby- slept through the night, didnt seem all that fussy, enjoyed a few innings of baseball...

Squirrel problem in the attic should be resolved by end of day. Lot of money in the squirrel game apparently. Since finding this "great deal" on this house we've:
Put in new windows
replaced commercial kitchen appliances that we initially thought were staying
put up new dry wall in a few spots
new HOT water heater
repaired gables
repaired roof areas
painted some areas
repaired or replaced every single can light in the house (over 50)
and surely im missing stuff... obviously this isnt counting the new furniture we had to immediately have. GREAT deal on the house though.

We got a "care package" of information from this random church seeking members. It consisted of information about the church, a bag of coffee grounds, and a handful of these candies....

If you are actively seeking people to come to your establishment, whyTF would "lets give them the worst candy on earth" be part of your strategy. I honestly dont know what that stuff even tastes like but I know its awful.

UofL skates off into the sunset virtually unscathed. Plus they somehow rode the aspect of sitting out last years tournament into positive PR for their Louisville Men transfer guards. Whole damn world is insane.

-Confession: I LOVE those black and orange Mary Jane candies. LOVE them.

-ESPN reporting that Pitino is charged with failing to monitor the program, but no further violations. That f'n school gets away with everything. I don't know how they do it, but it's nauseating.

Didn't expect them to get anything in addition to what's already happened except Pitino will serve some type of suspension. Damage is the lasting value of being able to mock them. NCAA is ridiculous but we all know this.

I've said this for a few years now, but it's more accurate than ever. In the current climate, it is much better to just go ahead and cheat to get ahead. When the NCAA comes calling, they won't really do anything substantive.

Much like fines levied by the government against massive corporations, it's more profitable to cheat. Oh you made 12 billion dollars from shady practice (x), well, here's a 100 million dollar fine, that'll show you.

Ok wait, so according to Dana O'Neil ([eyeroll]), "the NCAA alleges that McGee's payments, made for at least 17 athletes and/or recruits, can be construed as impermissible benefits." If that's the case, then shouldn't those players be ineligible and any game in which they played forfeited? What am I missing?

Any university that fires their coach for anything other than performance is foolish.

Dig your heels in.

Do the 'hear no evil. see no evil. speak no evil.' monkey routine.

Spin and say you're looking into it with outside legal counsel.

Whatever type of stall-ball tactics you have to employ until it blows over and the mainstream sports media chases the next squirrel off the porch.

At the end of the day nobody, not even the NCAAA infractions committee is going to force you to overhaul you program or coach.

If you give in its just to save public perception which means very little, so just do nothing.

* To add to Chase's very astute observation, I also love how Cal doesn't GAF about the NCAA. I mean, I'm not saying he's cheating, but he isn't scared of them in any way, for any reason. He basically just ignores their existence. As he should.
We need a football coach with that attitude. Or at least some assistants/recruiting coordinators/get back coaches with that attitude.

And, again, lol at anyone else talkin about house repairs. L.O.L.

14 parties with multiple strippers plus 11 "sex acts" will run you about $5400 per the NCAA.

UL's spin- "we went above and beyond what the NCAA would recommend with the post season ban last year and should be commended. Now let's never speak of this again."

As they did before, Louisville will just ignore any show-cause order like they did with Clint Hurtt without penalty.

Yeah, i mean their middle finger to the NCAA is just hilarious. They just give ZERO effs about anything. Maybe i'm a bit jealous of that approach.

Break rules, get caught, receive punishment, tell NCAA to GFY, ignore punishment. Business as usual.
