I don't think Stoops will make Elliot a sacrificial lamb - at least not after this year. Those two are too tight - personally and family-wise.

If nothing else, Stoops will say he worked with DJ to improve the defense and they are satisfied with the improvement and optimistic about next year.

-Shew, getting back to normal after detox and going to bed at a decent time. September was fun but I'm not built for that any longer.

-Teething. :weary: Poor little guy has the K9s coming in. Feel terrible for him. Also looks like he lost a bar fight from a nose dive on the side walk. He's hilarious though, really starting to communicate and understand things. Going to be a little rascal that's for sure. Maybe favoring his dad a little too much in that regard.

-Lose this weekend and the wheels are off. Pretty simple. Season is basically over. Stands will be empty. Spotlight moves 100% to the hardwood. And honestly any UK coach that loses 2 in a row to f*cking Vandy should be fired on the spot. Getting pissed already just thinking about it.

-This secondary market bourbon facebook page is insane. 23 year PVW going for $2300. 20 year going for $1500. Lol. You gotta be kidding me. Bourbon is going to have to raise their prices to regulate some of this nonsense. Can't even find Blanton's in a lot of liquor stores.

If you pay $1,500 for any bottle of bourbon short of the bottle Abe Lincoln was drinking out of the moment he was assassinated well then your. a. idiot.

Apparently during last weeks debate, tons of people were tweeting at Jon Lester, bitching at him bc they thought he was Lester Holt. His confusion was interesting.

Flu shot yesterday combined with a few night caps and today is really not off to a great start.

Its apparently "taser day" for new officers in the building. The sounds from down the hall are a bit unsettling.

I'm extremely disappointed by the number of "friends" I have that are members of that Facebook group.

Amanda Knox: Netflix did a great job, per usual.

Observations:

1.) She's an extremely unlikable gal.
2.) She didn't commit that crime, ya boy Rudy by himself imo.
3.) The worldwide media smear campaign and ridiculous & sensational stories concocted about her was pretty disgusting, and that journalist is a POS dbag.

It's definitely spawned a new generation of "Top Shelf" bourbons. Haven't even heard of 70% of the brands that line the top shelves these days, dunno if they are wannabes or not, or how many of them are just fancily named/labeled spinoffs from the classic distillers -- but you can find a minimum of 15-20 $60-$80+ bottles in most stores these days.

Definitely hope they raise the prices of top shelf bourbon so only Anth and his Lexington buds can enjoy.
Meh, I spend 60-80 bucks on an expensive bottle of Scotch. Been gifted a couple nice bottles. However, bourbon needs to catch up with Scotch in that regard if they can't even keep the run of the mill upper-end stuff on the shelves. Simple economics since they can't really increase supply.

^ my little ghetto Liquor World store on 264/3rd has 6 bottles of Blanton's right now, and pretty much always, along with every other kind. Best little secret store in town, imo -- it's where I sent Anth to get his Pappy last year.

I bought a bottle of Blanton's at the liquor store in Georgetown on Friday.
It's around but I've been in 3 liquor stores recently and it's no where to be found. Until the last few months you would never have thought Blanton's wouldn't be in stock.

You don't allow yourself to drink Bourbon b/c "it's a moral thing", remember (while drinking other whiskies 4x per week, LOL)

Why do you care?

Just remember, guys. TMFH was all over this bourbon thing first, before you mongrels stepped in and started polluting the situation.

I will say that the wine pours in the loge are pretty crappy. There can't be more than 3 oz in the little cups. But it's better than sneaking in cheap champagne in a can. Also, I drank draft beer at the last game.

Those little cups are wodie, keep forgetting to steal a bunch when I wake up in the morning. Wife made out with one in her purse, but I'm hoping to secure 8-10 by season's end.

A lot of it has to be from it being everywhere in Hollywood lately. Seems like every film I see that has a scene with the upper crust in it, they are drinking Blanton's. Must be they love the cool little horsey bottle.

Wine at a college football game. SCH.

Meanwhile, the ruffians in general seating will be served dog tacos after the Vandy loss.

More important for sales: the cover of a book, or the cover of a bottle of wine/bourbon/liquor,etc...?

I just saw my photo album from "this day 2 years ago" and it was the big win at Commonwealth vs. South Carolina. There are some pretty good pictures and videos. Adrian dancing around on the deck, Bop Gun, lots of pics with Chad with his head tilted, Richie asleep in full Keeneland gear on the couch (I think after his sister's engagement party at Keeneland/dinner during the game?), Chad asleep in the office on the floor, Willy getting pumped up during the game, everyone wearing their black UK gear for the black-out, Kirk-do actually in attendance, etc.

Good times, Wildcat Friends.

Interesting.

I don't see how Stoops can keep him on after publicly taking the reigns from him and then the defense markedly improving, especially when they will have to counter the narrative of Stoops learning on the job as a reason to justify going forward.

We shall see.

You have to actually come to the game to get a cup. Though I guess I could send you a couple as your housewarming gift.

That pic of Towns and Rubio at the Vikings game last night was awful. I don't mind anyone wearing whatever they want for the most part, but those dudes looked like they were trying to dress like girls.

I just think there's enough time left in the season that - assuming the defense continues to either improve or maintain what it has done the past 2 weeks - Stoops will be able to say he told DJ what he wanted, and DJ implemented that in the last half of the season.

A lot of what I think is premised on Stoops and DJ being very tight, which I understand to be true.

Of course, if things again go south defensively and Stoops then needs a scapegoat and DJ has the opportunity to move on, then that could happen.

But I just don't see DJ being shitcanned like Dawson was.

Get that comparing UK to Bama regarding anything football related is stupid but it amazes me the lack of common sense that Milquetoast has with bettering the experience for everyone in and around Commonwealth & being in tune to what the fans want or would enjoy.

We spend 200 million on some sleek
facility upgrades yet something simple like adding some nice greenery on the field wasn't even considered.

Music... Bama had old school to modern hip hop blaring through the speakers non stop up until our QB took the snap. Got their crowd and
student section all hyped. Even when they stopped playing a song it faded into another song's beat as a backdrop to keep the energy going. How hard is it to find someone competent in Lexington to play decent music at Commonwealth?

Golf carts are allowed all throughout town on Gameday. We hitched a ride on one taking us from their Quad area to the Strip. Oh no, ole Milquetoast outlawed that a few years ago. Can't have too much fun. The product on the field makes up for that.

Incorporating tradition on campus and part of the UK Basketball experience. Bama has that all over town. Bars/restaurants, shops, campus streets named after coaches, Bryant-Denny with the brick courtyard honoring their national championship coaches with immaculate statues.

We don't do any of this **** for our basketball program. There's this ******, janky *** historical marker outside of Memorial honoring Rupp. It's in such poor condition it looks like it's about to fall over. Oh, I forgot. The plastic vinyl banner sign on the side of Rupp Arena facing High St that has a picture of Rupp staying "The Greatest Tradition in College Basketball." Looks like something that should be hanging from Diamond Pub promoting 2.00 Bud Lights during MNF.

Milquetoast just doesn't "get it". Plain and simple.

Obviously, the prices on bourbon have gotten ridiculous if you're looking at it as something to drink. But when you look at it as a hobby and collectors item, it's much less ridiculous. I'll allow it. That said, I'm really glad I have a simpleton's palate.
