Golf Randos:
-Worship the new irons. Predictably, the driver left me immediately. Golf is touched up like that.
-Signed up for the Golfweek KY Amateur Tour. My club has events nearly weekly, but 90% are scrambles, team things, handicapped which are fun, but that **** gets old...stroke play is what keeps me interested, and other than the Club Championship & the Eli, I really have nothing other than the occasional money match.
Got in late, and my spring is packed, so I'll only be able to play in a few; but the course list is pretty ridiculous. Some of the best courses in the state, and a lot of private clubs I wouldn't get to play otherwise. Plus, it's fun competition.
This year's lineup:
Andover CC
Houston Oaks
Oxmoor CC
Olde Stone
Persimmon Ridge
Big Blue
Heritage Hill
Gibson Bay
Triple Crown CC
Lassing Pointe
Belterra (1 night getaway for dad, casina time)
Champions Trace
...I mean, that's dope. $90 per tournament, trophies/prizes/skins, and a points system leading up to 'Tour Championship'. Some of them are 2 day events.
Played my first at Oxmoor Saturday, which wasn't a great idea given I've played 3 rounds this year. Triple/Bogey/Double start....:weary: Played even the rest of the way til 18, finishing with another double. That course is so easy, but I flat cannot play it...main reason I quit my membership. Just loathe it. Well run event though, full field of 120, looking forward to more.
--Oh, was paired w/ a cool guy Scott Floro (Andover). Real estate guy from Lex, said he knew Hovey pretty well, and said "Harris, ha, that guy is Mr. Social GQ" Sounds about right.
-Tiger's driver swing floating around....shew, that's pretty sad. Looks scared to death.
-Little over a month til the Memorial :fire:
-Anyone used The Putter Lounge?
