Looking forward to blowing some $$ at the Louisiava Derby with him Saturday.

Candy My Boy is worth a look. Assuming he gets out from the 5 hole, they shouldn't have to use him like he did in the Risen Star, and may very well be walking out there. Gun Runner and Forevamo will be tough to hold off down that long stretch, but @ 15-1 he's definitely worth using in tri/super combos.

Weirdly, Liggins is one of my top favorites. Close between him, Ant, MKG.

DeAndre Liggins is my favorite Cat. *ducks*

Glad you got that settled, homes.

-Incidentally, the correct answer here is Sam Bowie, **** cakes.

D. Lamb Eat is my favorite of all time as of 3/22/2016. I don't give a **** how awful he is now. I'm a sucker for shooters, and he's the only true killer we've had during the Cal era.

And he's obviously crazy. That helps.

I was also jealous of those Big East teams who always ended up with the crafty East Coast guards. Levance Fields from Pitt, for example. Great touch, great handle, tough as hell, etc. D. Lamb was all that and more.

Just win the game and enjoy the rest of my day.

Worship.

I really think if acclaimed character actor Powers Boothe ran for president this year he'd win.

Not kidding, either.

Already happened. Got caught fooling around with his assistant or something like that.

Growing up, my first Cats I can remember were Kyle Macy and Jim Masters.
Hands down, without a doubt, until he train wrecked, My favorite Cat was Rex Chapman.
Mash was huge.
Delk
DA
Wayne Turner
Shep
Prince
Was a pretty rough stretch with tubby, but then Cal made it fun again
John Wall was huge
PPat-Loved him on the court, but playing beer pong with him, and he getting me up in the club with the rest of the old players really took our relationship to the next level.
Demarcus
Davis
MKG-really impressed me.
Aaron-will never forget watching those shots go down against Michigan and Wisconsin.
Tyler-one more year please.

Wait 10 years and Ulis will be your favorite, 73. You ***** about BBdK being biased towards what's happening now, but you are far more biased towards whatever happened in the past.

MKG was such a long time ago. Good point.

MKG replaced Wall who replaced Mash who replaced Rex who replaced Macy.

Trust me, I get it. Ulis was a great player. Just think MKG is higher on the pecking order. A more important player in the grand scheme of UK Basketball history. Which was SAE's point in the first place.

BBdK mocks my preference of Pat's Steak House vs. Jeff Ruby's, etc. What's the difference? It's MY opinion, not his. And Ruby's is probably a better restaurant. I just prefer Pat's. I have a lot of great family memories there, and I can't relate to Ruby's (or others) in the same way.

I guess UK Basketball players are off limits though.

Killa pretty much nailed the favorite player debate criteria. Ultimately, it's up to the fan. I get BBdK's Ulis love, but I also understand others who question it. The team's performance verses expectations, and ultimate disappointment/fulfillment level plays a role. Individually, Ulis has a great argument to be my favorite player of all-time. I loved the way he played as much as or more than any Cat I can remember, BUT...

As much as it sucks to admit, that '15 team brings back an empty feeling with me. Same with this team but for different reasons. That matters to me, emotionally, and "favorite player" is an emotional thing. Otherwise, we'd all just love the best players. As BBdK pointed out, Davis isn't his favorite, nor is he most UK fans' favorite on that team. It's really hard for me to pick favorites anyway. I love them all for the most part.

After some thought, my Top 3 all-time:

1. Epps
2. Turner
3. MKG

All champions. Two cerebral floor leaders and one "heart of a lion" stallion. Ulis is in that next tier. Davender was my first favorite, the guy I first pretended to be out in my backyard, so he holds a special spot in my heart. Mashburn, Delk, Wall and Davis were stars who I loved. The Unforgettables have to be up there. Derek Anderson. Boogie Cousins. Sheppard. Padgett. Brandon Knight. Lamb. Darius Miller. Aaron Harrison. Towns.

Guys who would be higher if not for their teams- Prince, Bogans, Sparks.

Wednesday Randoms & Reactions:

- Saw that and forgot to mention about Edwards and Wyoming. Good for that dude. He's one of those glue guys you can forget about who was just huge in a title run. Will always remember him for the small plays he made in that Duke comeback.

- People are really taking credit for thinking Ulis/Booker would have been an awesome sophomore backcourt? :flushed: Well...no ****. Real talk, though...considering Murray doesn't come if Booker is here...how much better are we with Booker than we were with Murray? We still have the same achilles heel. I guess you expect Booker to be better from the start so that erases a couples losses. He'd be more consistent as a sophomore than the freshman Murray, as well. Maybe that would've been enough to make us contend.

- In honor of Geese, I'm going to say...I think a backcourt of Murray, Fox and Monk would've KILLED next year. Heard it here first!

- Sean Miller's time is coming.

- Our tourney seeding has been **** under Calipari. When we haven't been a 1-seed, we have been underseeded at least one line each time (should've been a 2/3 in '11, should've been a 7 in '14 and should've been a 3 in '16). Even as a 1-seed, we've been screwed by getting the best 2 in '10 and NOT having the two best teams in the tourney on the other side of the bracket in '15 (Duke and particularly Wisconsin should've been opposite of us).

But our "luck" has been even worse. We just haven't benefited from upsets at all. When you look at how brackets have opened up for the Dukes and Floridas, it's infuriating.

- Watched the game Saturday at Dickmann's, which was great besides the loss. Grungy sports bar. TVs everywhere. ALL UK FANS. Hot waitresses.

- With that said, after watching two straight tourney defeats with ABH and BBdK, I think we need a break from each other next year.

- In a weird spot for the games this weekend. I'm interested but it's not must-see. Taking the lass out for dinner Saturday night as a sorta "thanks for being cool" while I had my head in a TV all/air for the last month watching basketball...and to a lesser degree for making us plan everything around sports on Saturdays for the last 7 months.

Favorite teams are tough, too. The Top 3 are easy- '96, '12 and '98 in some order. After that, how do you rank:

'92
'93
'97
'03
'10
'11
'15

Switch UK with any 3,4,5,or 6 seed that won in R1 (besides IU), and we are playing a double digit seed in Round 2. None of the other 7 matchups seeded out. Infuriating.

Duke getting placed opposite UK, Wisky, AZ, and their Kryptonite Notre Dame last year was an all time committee hand job for Coach K. Duke very "lucky" again this year, when the committee was sure to put all ACC teams but Miami on the other side, including the two #1 seeds, and gives Duke an extremely questionable #1 seed.

-I get bbdk putting Ulis as his all time favorite player. Kid is a stud, a warrior. One of the top 2-3 most likable guys we've had under Cal. For me though, I'd need at least a 3rd year from him. Tough to say he was great leader when this team didn't do ****. I know that's not his fault, but life's not fair. He gets bucketed with Patterson in that regard for me. Losing to freaking IU in R2 combined with all the other ****** losses just tarnishes his legacy. Still love the kid, and he'd be my #1 pick for returning player next year, easily.

I didn't turn five years old until after the 1985-86 season. I'm not going to lie on here and pretend to have vivid memories of that team. I don't remember Kenny Walker playing at UK at all. I barely remember Rex Chapman. The Pitino Era was my formative era of Kentucky basketball. My favorite team is the 1996 team. My favorite player is Mashburn. Of all the Cal players, Wall is my favorite. Wall and Mashburn each represent the renewal of this program in their respective eras. These are my opinions. They are not right or wrong, they are subjective. If you're too stupid to grasp the concept of subjectivity then please feel free to refrain from comment on the matter.
