I think it's fatigue even though he or Cal will not admit it.
I agree 100%. I first said the same thing after the Kansas game. Cal has to get him some rest during the game. Not down to 30 minutes, but he needs a couple of rest spots during the game. 3-4 minutes of game clock.

He didn't have a great game. But that wasn't what got us beat. Alex and Skal gave us nothing. Really missing Willis. We probably go down at Florida on Tuesday.

Any time Tyler Ulis chunks up 20 shots, we are not going to win. He sets up other people to score, we miss Willis, and Poy and Skal did nothing. Lee played hard and scored 9 points, Humphries didn't score.
And the final nail.... 10-23 from the FT line, inexcusible !

Too much on one person's shoulder. I don't blame him. I think round of 32 is our ceiling this year. Just don't have the legs.
If Willis doesn't make it back we go at least S16 but if he's back the sky is the limit IMHO. It will be a neutral court and none of this BS home cook'n with the refs. I don't believe in refs costing games, and don't think they have for us, but they've impacted every game we've lost of late.

Bad game for Tyler today. It happens. He is still one of our best players, and he won't shoot that bad again this year. If he had to have a cold shooting night, at least it was in February.

Hope your right but he's had several games just like today. Idont know why so many on here keep talking about his shooting being so good.

No, the lack of defense and rebounding (not to mention offense) from our bigs is what killed us.

This is exactly it. Murray and Ulis both couldn't sustain the level of play they've had over the last month without getting some help from our front court. Ulis is what 19 or 20 years old. I doubt he's getting tired of carrying a lot of the load. He just had a bad game.

Alex actually had me buying in to him getting re-energized having to watch the A&M game from the bench and not being able to help. He then plays really well against Bama and I thought we might get that Alex for the rest of the year. NOT! This is like the 73rd time I've thought he had turned the corner in his long, very long, UK career. That's on me.

I can't believe a True UK fan would even start a thread that says 'Ulis killed us today'. Ulis has played great all season. He had the one span where his shoulder was hurt but he has been averaging 20 points and 10+ assists in his last 11-12 games. Vandy has been on fire in there last 3 or 4 games and when you come to Vandy in Memorial Gymnasium it is the toughest place to play. We played good up to the under 8 timeout in the 2nd half and was only down 60-56. Three problems stood out today and the biggest was going 10 for 23 at FT line and some of those were 1 and 1, Poythress after coming back Tuesday on Fire with 16 points in only 20 minutes of playing had nothing today, and we do miss Willis. Willis is another 3 point threat and that opens up Ulis and Murray more and helps underneath with the big men. Willis in his last game before TA&M injury went 25 and 6 and the games before that he was near Double/Doubles in most of the games He has played in since being inserted into the Starting Lineup. The last 8 minutes of the game today I don't think we scored that much at all and actually Vandy wasn't burning down the nets either if we were hitting shots in last 5-6 minutes of the game.

From the the foul line, Lee 55% Ulis 50%, I never thought I would see the day that would happen. I'm not jumping off the bridge though. There was no way the SEC and refs would let Vandy lose today.

Can't win when he shoots that bad...everybody has bad days
Yes we could - besides Jamal Murray we had a bunch of players who were just as abysmal at scoring today, and if any of them had scored well today, we would've won.

And of all those players, only one played well in every other facet of the game and has saved our asses consistently throughout the season - so that's the one I choose to give a break.

I am concerned that Ulis is wearing down. He and Murray need a lot fewer minutes.

He had a bad shooting night at the opera house. Not gonna sweat it. Wish that had happened to John Wilkes Boothe.

Ulis didn't play great today, but he didn't kill us. The fact that you think that says just how important he is. What killed us is Poythress no-showing (which you have to expect ever 3 games or so), Humphries regressing, and Skalol continuing to run away with worst player in college basketball.

The problem is that on offense, UK is just a 2 man team.
...at least until we get Willis back. I think we'll be ok come tournament time and shock some people along the way. Some want to write us off but on a neutral court where the fouls called approach being evenly called, we can beat anybody. Not blaming refs, home court is what it is, but the tournament is usually different.

Tyler only killed us because we rely on him so much.

So yes you could say him not being great hurt us, and we have come to expect that.

Of course, it is sad we have come to terms with:

Briscoe being the worst shooting guard in UK history and in the SEC this year.

Skal being the worst top recruit Cal has ever had.

Lee's FT's (other than today).

Alex showing up once every 5 games.

So yes if Murray or Tyler have a bad game, we will probably lose and they would have killed us, because all of our faith is in these two youngsters.
