I was way behind draggin' *** on Willis. Thought he was a wasted scholarship until about forty-five minutes ago. Proud of it too.
Props assigned, and I don't just do that by request often...must truly be earned.Give me my props. I was arguing for the dude all summer.
You're selling Willis short. He can defend and he's 6'9".
If Poythress had come in and played like Willis did late at UCLA, Calipari would have thrown the kid a parade. Willis can't even shed the warmup while we're going through the motions against EKf'nU.
I don't think Willis is terrible on defense. Willis and Lee are about the only two bigs you can rely on in the press and we probably need to press more.
It really pisses me off that he won't play Willis. He couldn't be any GD worse than half the guys that have been in there. No chance in f'n hell.
How would playing Willis at the 3 or 4 for extended minutes that half hurt us? I'll hang up and listen to your response.
This is one of those games that makes you want to strangle Calipari. Willis and Humphries a DNP while Mulder gets in during a crucial stretch in the first half. WTF is up with that? Matthews barely played.
Is Skal going to make the leap? I'd settle for a hop at this point or just a basic understanding of the game of basketball. It's apparent that we are going to live and die with this kid so long as he is eligible and healthy. Hope he figures it out or we start getting him some looks from spots where he can actually make a shot. 1-7 today. 2 pts.
We have the parts to have a competent, functional basketball team if we go small. Play Ulis, Briscoe, Murray, Willis and Lee. That combination never once saw the floor today and that may be our best group right now at least on offense.
Errbody can claim they were first on the THRILLIS train, but only one dude came out and said, "Put him at the 4."
I don't remember who that was, but he was on to something, that guy.
I can't even remember what I posted this afternoon I just know I made fun of myself because I'm so bad at life
imagine if Willis was from some slapdick eastern Kentucky high school? Jersey retirement talk would have already commenced.
Instead he's from Bullitt County (Greater Louisville Area), so instead he gets a mock twitter account.
Tough break, really.
. I still think Skal has potential, but it's winning time now and Humpries is simply less of a liability than Skal.
I think we've disagreed on whether Skal was a bad kid or not and what his potential was...but we agree on his current production. Really hasn't taken enough "baby steps" to be a net positive on the floor. Humpries has adjusted to college bball quicker than he has.:joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

You're probably right, but who's the last Eastern Kentucky kid to play for the Cats? Todd Tackett? Richie was a special circumstance. He was a mountain legend long before he became a Cat.Of course.
Other examples:
-Scott Padget: Louisville
-Darius Miller: not being white
No room for these guys in "Kentucky boy" lore. No sir. Hell, Patrick Sparks got points deducted for being a western coal fields kid.
F BBN.
