I KNOW they're not the same type of player, but I keep looking at Darius Miller as a source of optimism. Totally different player as a senior- cocksure, composed, clutch. Different players, but similar mental makeup.
AND, Poythress was HUGE during the '14 tourney run.
Miller is a totally different type player than Poythress
Don't know why wildcatchad would be snippy.
Absolutely ^ re: the defensive spacing. They'll be equipped to handle ball screens at a much better clip. Another one of the reasons I'm psyched about the team's potential.* I also think this team will be better equipped to defend more spread and ball screen looks, just because of the increase in overall team speed. They might even run a bit more. Not sure Notre Dame would be able to catch our guys out of position 4 out of every 5 trips like they did last year.
[laughing] Looks like opening date of Dec 14th. Just going to assume like everything else in that spot it's doomed before start. Hopefully I'm wrong but a delivery Tex-Mex, craft beer/Tequilla, nacho joint doesn't sound like a safe bet. Also renovating and paying rent on a place like that for 7 months before opening doesn't seem like a good way to get going.Wonder if that Macho Nacho place will be any good?
One criticism of the twins that was absolutely justified. They ran a fast break like a wet fart(/80).Absolutely ^ re: the defensive spacing. They'll be equipped to handle ball screens at a much better clip. Another one of the reasons I'm psyched about the team's potential.
And as for running, I can't see how they wouldn't be an improvement getting out and going. Last year's bunch was an abysmal fast break team. 3v2 and 2v1's were somehow a chore to score easy buckets.
RE: 22
Grain of salt due to sample size and opponent quality, but Poythress held the guy he was guarding to 10% shooting from the floor when he played last season. Do that, hang around the basket, get tip dunks and the occasional chase-down block like he did twice to Perry Ellis and we're good.
No idea why people have low expectations, I certainly don't.
the #1 pick in the draft, per all the mocks in December 2012That clip of Poythress knocking down 3's and taking his man off the dribble... man.
Hopefully I'm wrong but a delivery Tex-Mex doesn't sound like a safe bet.
The " What?" that he does when talking to himself is [laughing]
No idea what that means. (TM RIDERS)
That's why I think it'll be fine. We're not asking much of the guy. Focus on rebounds. That's it. It'll take a bit but he'll learn to trust the knee.Do: get in the post, stay in the post, jump high, rebound, dunk.
Don't: dribble, shoot threes
Burn.Wouldn't expect you to, Bellarmine. Most everyone else here does tho.
Don't forget it, either.
Digger Phelps would do that **** on GameDay. Ask himself questions and then answer them.
Setup is great and the tacos are better than Local Taco but I thought the burgers were 'meh.' Although it's nice to have a flat top burger option rather than the thick *** gourmet burger like everywhere else. That new place that replaced HUGH JASS BURGERS is pretty good, FWIW. It's a neat setup.
I've only done the tacos and salads, but my wife really likes the black bean burger, FWIW.Setup is great and the tacos are better than Local but I thought the burgers were 'meh.' Although it's nice to have a flat top burger option rather than the thick *** gourmet only options like everywhere else.
