Legal or not, Clemson is a public university. That can't (and should never) be tolerated on our campus.
I don't disagree with you. Oddly many Americans seem to think Hate Speech is not free speech - Including many in the Republican Party

Protest, sit-ins are fine and are a great release valve to express your opinion. Blocking people from entering or physically assaulting people should be stopped immediately and given no tolerance.

Hate speech should be combatted with better speech to expose the hate.

The US House passing that bill yesterday was a disgrace and ignorant but par for the course, unfortunately.

Clemson once suspended/expelled or tried to suspend/expel students for having photos surface on the internet of parties with cultural themes because they were offensive. Harmless but offensive.

If any of these protesters are students and they utter the words "death to" towards anyone, both near or far away in the middle east, they should be expelled immediately if you are going to hold them to the same standards as that is infinitely more hateful and offensive than the prior example.

A student making a death threat, by any means, is a crime in the state of South Carolina.

While I agree that these heathens shouldn't be allowed to hide their face there is no way to enforce that since covid and they know it.

I love the ā€œdon’t talk to the mediaā€. It’s what we did on the football team with ā€œcertain playersā€ because we knew they’d embarrass themselves and the university if they opened their mouth to the media.

Most, not all, of the students who this would appeal to are foreign students and don’t leave Clemson between semesters.

Maybe the first clue that you are doing some ish that you shouldn't be doing is when you have to wear a facemask so nobody knows its you.

But, if they follow their own rules of not blocking walkways, traffic, access etc. then by all means, go for it. Can't think Clemson as a public institution would be able to prevent it.
This... I'm not a huge fan of this issue myself, b/c I get where Israel is coming from in this case. But I also don't really understand the hate for the Pallistinians either. You can line up the Hamas folks and shoot them where they stand for all I care. But the folks that aren't Hamas are getting killed too by the IDF... I can certainly feel sorry for them. Just like I can certainly get where Israel is coming from when they attack into Gaza and not like the fact that they've hosed down some civilians along side Hamas.

I'm OK with Clemson students protesting. That's their right. What's NOT their right is to damage property or people while they are doing it. They don't get to shut stuff down, or threaten anyone.

The masks are not for Covid, TB, or any other disease. They admit this. They are for cowardice. You aren’t a true protester if you won’t show your face.
I might be sympathetic to their ā€œallegedā€ cause. But they are wusses.

George Soros and the Rockefeller Foundation are the 2 main contributors. They are funding all of these protests. Soros is the biggest piece of **** to walk the planet in our lifetime. He was one of the Jews that helped track down others Jews for the nazis. And he is the main person behind this socialist agenda
I'm not even going to bother with the Socialist stuff... But Soros is 93, meaning he was born in 1931. The Germans occupied Hungary (where Soros lived with his family) in 1944 when Soros was 13 and the war effectively ended when Hitler killed himself in early 1945. So you are telling me that a 13 year old kid was trained and deployed to help the Nazis track down Jews? Come on man!

Expel them all. Antisemitism has no place in this country
You can be anti-semite, anti-white, anti-black, anti-whatever in your speech as much as you want. People should be exposed for their bigotry, racism and prejudice towards immutable characteristics and hopefully, they'll give it some deeper thought.

This. The stupidity, along with the childish mentality, of posters never cease to amaze me.

Would be great if they just locked the doors to Sikes and gave everyone the day off that works there and/or have them work somewhere else.

Just pay them absolutely no attention.

The media coverage on this garbage is exactly what these idiots want.

Legal or not, Clemson is a public university. That can't (and should never) be tolerated on our campus.

If it’s legal, it doesn’t matter what you think should be tolerated. The First Amendment gives the right to anybody to express whatever they might like, regardless of insult, hurt feelings or other mental discomfort imbued upon others.

And what does Clemson being a public university have to do with anything?

Btw, I’m against hate speech but I am for its continued protection under the law. Slippery slopes and whatnot.

just what do they want clemson to do here???

They saw it on tv and want to be included too.

I know great people on both sides of this and neither of them are wrong. Its the revenge that both sides want..thats the issue ultimately. The 3kmurdered last fall was wrong. The 30k murdered since then is also wrong.

One of these sides is gonna have to forgive here. Even if Hamas is destroyed, there are children seeing war today in their homes that are gonna grown up as orphans due to either side iulling their family and theyll be the next ones ready for war as soon as theyre old enough.

I get the not liking him part for sure... But simply doing a bit of math on some of these claims before voicing them would be a good thing.

I actually voted for Graham his first time running for Senate b/c of this. His opponent (a Democrat) had a solution for illegals... just arrest them and deport them. It was commonly accepted that there were 15 million illegals in the US at that point (not unlike today). Grab a calculator and run some quick numbers on how many people you'd have to have arresting x number of immigrants per day and how many buses you'd have to have to deport that many folks.

Can we start a go fund me for some fraternities to crash this and chant USA?
That would be fun... Probably the best thing would be for Clemson to allow the protest and not even talk about it... Then they show up... protest in front of a building with no one there... and leave. No one even bothers to counter protest, no reporters (or however many that show up) get to cover a few students sitting and not saying anything. Maybe have a campus cop or two there to make sure things stay in control. How long would that protest go on if no one paid them the least bit of attention?
