It's now part of America's subculture to actually stand for the National Anthem.
It’s extremely weird the national anthem is played before sports to begin with.

I’ve heard this argument more and more lately and it’s completely apples to oranges. Sports aren’t an everyday job. Do thousands of people pay a lot of money and take hours out of their day to watch you work?
No, I didn’t say that. Just pointing out some differences between sports and your job. A sporting event is not the same as clocking in as a CPA, mechanic, insurance adjuster, garbage man, etc.
It’s not weird at all. Many professions used to wear American flag patches on their uniforms. We used to be a much more patriotic country overall.

My friend starts for the giants. There would have been more standing had they not thought it may impact their contracts. Sad to hear this is where we are as a society.
