There has been a spirited set of post on the Boy Scout thread. Not to hijack the thread Public Service Announcement.....I decided to post this thread.

If I want to identify as a woman can I put on a little bathing suite and play beach volleyball with a female teammate and play in the womans league.

And another serious question.... when we start a womans softball team can a man who basically hits softballs over the fence every pitch and has college eligibility left (who thinks he is a woman) play on that team?

When does it stop? What are the boundaries?

What an idiotic post. The Boy Scouts changing their name had nothing to do with gender identity. It's all about economics. As has been pointed out, the Boy Scouts are a separate entity than the Girl Scouts and are actually viewed as competition. Seeing that their participation was dwindling, the BSA decided to open its door to females, a great idea if you have a daughter that wants to learn useful outdoor skills rather than selling cookies.

People need to stop lumping this move with the whole "wussifying of America" theme. It's a tired and not too intelligent take.

The Boy Scouts was an established great tradition in this country. I'm all for needed changes but don't think this was one of them. The "tolerant " liberals ruin everything. And some of you can quote my post and call me names ( another big thing the tolerant left is so good at ) but I ain't changing my opinion.

But the change had nothing to do with tolerant liberals. I am conservative myself and this move wasn't done because of pressure from the left. It's misplaced anger to place blame on the libs for this one. The BSA simply wants to increase participation and what better way to do it than opening up membership to half the population that previously could not join.

I have not dug deeply into all the paticulars but I have a very hard time believing that the left would not be the driving force behind it. I'm sure there are a few conservatives who may support the change but I bet the majority would not. It's OK to have some separate things for boys and girls. IT'S OK.

I would tend to agree... as you can see I posted a topic for discussion..... it went south because certain posters took it that way. This thread is not about the boy scouts its about the womans softball team and Volleyball... if you have thoughts on that Chime in.
