Millions of guns in US, millions of crazy people, neither side has any ideas on how to stop gun violence so sadly it probably will not stop for a while

He works in the senate building. Back in 4 weeks for last semester at Clemson. He says they can move about now within the building, but were told not to leave. Odd that the area is still in caution mode, as the shooter was arrested hours ago at labor dept I think. There's always security warnings in DC so i guess we'll have to get used to it.

Bad guys will get the guns whether they all magically disappeared or not.

please explain to me, after we've made all the guns magically disappear, how people will continue to gain access to those guns that I magically made disappear?

Washington DC has the strictest gun laws in the USA. Are you telling me that a "bad guy" disobeyed the law and has a gun? The next thing is people will ignore all the laws prohibiting the use of illegal drugs. Damn - We need some more laws. That will solve the problem.

Probably the same way people get their hands on illegal drugs. Guns could easily be produced illegally in this country and they could easily be smuggled across borders. I'm not making any kind of political argument with my post but I am pretty sure guns would reappear pretty quickly

Come on Iceheart, if you tell me you really didn't know what I meant you're hopeless. Think...England. Think....Australia. Bad guys get what they need when they need it. Fact.

The gun violence in this country isn't due to the 99%+ of gun owners. It's just as plain as the nose on your face.Think this...there are well over 100,000,000 gun owners/advocates in this country owning over 300,000,000 guns...and that's KNOWN guns.. Who TF is going to take them away from the law abiding citizens?

I do.
Teach values that strengthen families. Kids out of wedlock is not acceptable.
Promote staying in school.
Teach Christian values of love and forgiveness.
Promote gun safety and CWPs. End 'no guns allowed' zones. Every mass shooting in the last 10 years has been in a 'gun free' zone. It's stupid to keep doing what clearly doesn't work. CWPs save lives every songle week.

So I should have guns in a night club where its dark, people have been drinking, the crowds leave little personal space and you can hear about nothing?

This is far too simplistic. Today, unless born to a college-educated mother, the likelihood that a baby born in the U.S. will be 'illegitmate' exceeds 50 percent for all races.

Christian values of love and forgiveness have been taught for years. The Bible Belt has the highest number of church-attending people in the country. I don't see any fewer shootings in the South than other parts of the country.

By no means should we end 'no guns allowed' zones. So I should be able to go into the US Capitol armed? I should be able to go to the arena at the Republican convention in Cleveland armed? You would feel safer if a bunch of hot-head, drunk 18-year olds at Clemson carried guns around downtown?

Show me examples of CWPs saving lives every week. There were gun-toting people at the protest march in Dallas the other day and I didn't see any taking shots at the killer.

What would be the alternative to the bolded statement? Abortion? But, don't teach the kiddies about birth control either.

Right. And the really astute law abiding gun owners keep multiple guns off the grid. Good luck finding and confiscating those, Barry.

Uh, no. Teaching people from the time thst they are children that, regardless what their parents did or what they say, that the only acceptableway to have children is after you are married.
Over 90% of prison inmates are from single parent homes. In many homes, being a single parent is even taught as being preferable. There is a CLEAR correlation between criminal activity, pverty, snd single parent homes.

Do an internet search, my friend. Every week it happens.
The weekend after the mass shooting in Orlando, a Hulu driver in Chicago shot a guy who was beginning a mass shooting in a park.

And i repeat EVERY SINGLE MASS SHOOTING is in a 'no guns allowed' zone.
Virginia Tach
Every single school
The movie theater in Colorado
Orlando

Do you not understand that shooters like rhis, and criminals in general, are essentially bullies who intentionality target spots wherethey are fairly sure they will be unopposed? ??? There is simply nothing more basic.
Given 2 schools, one with a sign that says, 'No firearms allowed" ,and another with a sign that says, 'Notice: this school has armed personnel for the protection of our students and staff", i will bet you everything i own that i KNOW which one a crazy will attack every time.

Good luck getting past initial Local/State/Fed confiscation. One thing America has shown is the ability to come together in the face of adversity. The largest military in the world resides here in America. Our Second Amendment is for this exact scenario...protecting ourselves against our very own Government.

That really has never worked. People are going to have sex. Might as well ban divorce. Oh wait, you'll likely want that too.

Sure don't want to teach them non-Christian values of love and forgiveness. Gun violence is at a 20 year low in spite of your assessment that what is happening today isn't working.

Wrong, and this is such a flawed argument. More guns and more access to guns is not the answer. I'm a CWP holder, but I believe in reasonable gun control.
Dallas isn't a gun free zone. In fact, it allows open carry and there were several citizens on the street at the time openly carrying AR's at the time of the shooting, yet it still happened.

I do. My point is there could be initial confiscation....but that wouldn't last very long. 100,000,000 people telling you to fluck yourself (Feds) is huge. The Feds can't do it without using genocide type methods.

Cool. So now we've established that at least you and I will be able to protect ourselves and our families. I have no plans of letting my stuff be confiscated. IF I had stuff, that is.

I think there is a lot of truth here, but it's pretty clear to me that poverty has the biggest impact on the others. Not the other way around.

That's a problem when, should SHTF, that you rely on someone else to protect you and yours. Just saying. Will it ever come to that? See War of Northern Aggression.

Yes, this is an exception. Why?
Those who had the guns.....were the protesters. They were NOT carrying guns because they wanted to publicly validate their 2nd amendment rights, or even to protect themselves. They were carrying guns to protest the police.
Thereis a HUGE difference.
