From what I read online, Borque is a big dollar recruit and the cupboard is bare for Grunk (estimate of 5 million for him now!)

Grunk is becoming a hot commodity. My guess is Indiana goes after him after he nearly beat them in his third career start.

Grunk moving on
Cignetti's comment last year, after Grunk's third game, says it all..."I think Penn State found a quarterback they can win games with", or something to that effect.

From what I saw of Becht so far, Grunk would be favored in a fair (minus the loyalty card) head to head competition...makes consistently accurate throws to all parts of the field, isn't afraid to put it up for his receivers or run.

Whatever happens with Grunk next year, with his progression, he'll be a Day 1 or 2 pick for the NFL.

Cignetti said it looks like they found their future QB. Grunk is having a far superior season than Becht and it ain’t close.

Believe this is an over the top troll response to a VT account (below) who posted an unsubstantiated rumor that Koby Howard was looking to hit the portal. There are no sources or anything for either post…it’s rage bait.

Told you so. The environment at PSU where the highest paid players are all "Campbell's guys", but the actual best players (and lowest paid relative to their talent level) are all Franklin holdovers, is not conducive to keeping our best players. Krafty The Clown has created a complete crap-show with his decision-making and PSU is in real trouble. I doubt Howard ever plays another game for us - why would he risk injury before he cashes in?

Word on the street is that Georgia is sniffing around and tampering with Grunk. Franklin has millions of dollars in that QB room and he is not going to be able to retain Grunk, especially considering several high profile, well funded schools need a QB for 2027. The recruit Bourque, who is already a year older than typical seniors, is having an awful senior season, and Franklin has millions allocated to that recruit over the next two years. That’s the danger of going all in on a QB in high school recruiting. Getting back to Grunk, definitely this was Campbell’s biggest mistake. Becht has completely failed him and Grunk was a future 2-3 year starter proven B1G qb.

Saw an article about a couple players showing up at media day wearing T shirts which said “Own the Outcome”. When asked where they got them, they said Pat Kraft put them in all the players lockers. The Amateur Fanboy clown show continues. Perhaps he should heed his own advice.

Krafty acts like such a loser with these antics. He has a lot of effing nerve to promote that slogan.

Does this likely mean Franklin is heading for USC? Ooops, meant FSU, not USC.........
If all that stuff is true, it'd be par for James given how it seemed he was always trying to leverage a new contract at PSU. Or maybe James flying around all the time was just a way to get out of Blacksburg. Riley's seat at USC is much cooler than it has been recently. OTOH, James being in Tallahassee next year wouldn't surprise me. I'm not saying it'll happen, but it wouldn't surprise me.

So Borque is this year's Olesh - overpaying to land a highly rated recruit who will not start. If PSU could get Grunk back in the $3M range, its worth pulling the trigger. Highly doubtful though.

There's a bad man joke that the only time men are not thinking about sex is the moment after having it.

Franklin seemed to be that way with respect to financial support from the university. I'm glad the school held out on giving him a helicopter pad, which seemed his preferred dramatic method of travel.

I wish he seemed as concerned about game day adjustments, and not as bewildered about unsuccessful outcomes.

I like the guy personally, but felt like he redirected too much blame for failure, and in general failed to meet reasonable expectations or consistent incremental improvement.

Based on your comments it’s a good thing you like Franklin personally. You realize he was fired over a year ago right?

I meant personally, how he represented the university and cared for his players, not so much with coaching, his choices for coordinators, or some player development (he did seem to recruit RB and DB quite well, no so much WR or the DL).

And so it goes….

Who is this Snerd troll?

"James Franklin has become detached from the team over the last two weeks and was absent for most of the bye week leaving staffers in the dark on his whereabouts.

Insiders are quoted as saying tech had a bad week of practice and it’s going to take a miracle to beat SMU. One unnamed player was overheard saying if he worried about play schemes as much as airports we would be 8-0. One insider said in his 40 years of football t"ese are the worst vibes he’s witnessed for a 6-2 team:"

And now they’re doubling down….

I don't know what Howard will do or not do this offseason, but the fact that this account places VTech in the mix tells me the info this particular person is claiming to know is troll hogwash. There is a very real reason he did not follow Franklin to VTech last offseason...
