I think UT is ranked around #5 pre-season and Duke is also top 5.
Man, seeing Duke has made me really want Jai Lucas as our coach. He’d probably outrecruit Scheyer.

This season is going to be unbearable. It’s one thing to have a subpar team but can’t stand Duke being on top.

TN loves some mid-range. Nate Oats would stroke out. TN offense looks like it's somebody goes one-on-one and then next time down the floor it's another guy's turn to go one-on-one.
Barnes will shape these guys up, but I wonder if part him would rather go on long walks with his wife.
even though duke is loaded with NBA talent and completely de-pancing tenn right now up 32 points.....you cant take away "anything" from these exhibition games. nothing. they are meaningless. thats what was said right....

Duke is staying near the top every year. Too bad we didn’t keep up. Papaw Mitch wasn’t prepared for this new age of college sports and we fell behind.

Duke's second 5 is better than most teams' starters.
Duke is an example of what I've been saying. There are some ridiculously good rosters this season.
All the top teams are on the top. Cal has Arkansas in the top 12, meanwhile we don’t even know if we’ll make the middle of the pack in the SEC. Damn right we’re miserable. Our program has been mismanaged for the last freaking time. I’d rather burn down the whole program and focus on football than be irrelevant in basketball.
After Tennessee’s first two exhibition games, they sure don’t look like a top 25 team.
Never got the hype for UT all offseason. Lot of talent on the roster, but much of it is redundant. Also built the exact opposite direction of what Rick Barnes has had success with in recent past.
Would hate to see how you react in stressful situations. Maybe at least see how the first handful of real games go before burning things down?
Florida will be the only team that can even keep it close
Out of curiosity, I recently asked AI to create a model using the past 2 seasons as training data and use that to make preseason rankings. It came back with UT at #20, so apparently it wasn't too high on UT either.
Unfortunately for us, it has UK at #23.
Not that it means anything...just thought it was interesting that it's model didn't think much of UT either.

Like I said last year when I watched Duke play their first game: they're so much better than us its like they're in another higher division. They could just name their score.

I think if Scheyer plays it right, they could runaway with it this year.
There is nothing they don't have. Their best PG as the season goes will be Rippey - he's special. He's high energy, another gear. Boozer and Foster are flat at PG, that kid injects energy.
The rosters right now with NIL and the portal are off the charts at the top. These are team picking off the best players in the country at peer and HS level. Duke got the best SG in the portal along with 3 5*.
They might be better than everyone. From a straight talent perspective, there many only be a few teams that can hang with them.
