Acc is way weaker than the big.
is it a fluke now that acc and big twelve is number 1 and 2? They play no one.
Meanwhile sec and big as expected is beating each other up. Still it is October and need to see how it all plays out.
If you aren't happy with 10,11, and even a 13 win season, how are you enjoying 3-4 and excellence at the highest level?
3 of our 4 losses were by one score. Words like "disappointing", "underwhelming", "underperforming", etc should apply. But to say we're "completely uncompetitive" isn't the reality.
Neither did Franklin. He made zero playoffs with 4 team playoff and one stinking playoff with 12 teams eligible.

The first goal is to win games in the conference in which you are affiliated. Relative strength of conferences is of little reward when you are in last place.
Did you see the Northwestern Game? Also, PSU has only played the weakest teams in the conference.
I think Ohio State and Indiana would make PSU look pretty uncompetitive.

We've played 4 Big Ten games so far. Here is where SP+ and Sagarin rate those teams in the conference (probably two of the best publicly available tools for rating team strength)...
USC - 5th in both
Michigan - 8th in both
Northwestern - 9th in Sagarin, 10th in SP+
Wisconsin - 9th in SP+, 10th in Sagarin
So, in a conference with 17 other teams, we've yet to play one of the 7 weakest teams in the conference.
The truth is that we've yet to play one of the weakest teams in the conference...while also being true that we won't play any of the strongest teams in the conference. And note that all 5 of the remaining games are against teams in the bottom 7 (Washington being the strongest of those as they are 11th/12th).
Line would be pretty close...most likely PSU a small favorite on a neutral.
How long was the 12 team playoff in place? Oh that’s right 1 year. He made it to the playoffs the first year it was implemented.

If it came down to a FG I'd pick PSU with out a doubt but my gut says it would be a 10 pt VT win.

Year after year, we look at the PSU roster and we say good, pretty good, a few stars but nothing outstanding. Nor do we ever have any depth. Look at some of these squads -- they have 3 draftable RBs or two big-time wideouts or a legit DE who wrecks havoc. Do we? It's an uphill battle without money.

Northwestern is the best team we've played in terms of Conference Record and we were beyond uncompetitive. These same excuse-making clowns told us how we were going to beat "a bad USC team".... didn't happen did it? USC badly outplayed us in the 4th QTR and pulled away easy (the game was over after USC's first 2nd Half possession TD to take a 4 point lead as it was clear to anyone that PSU's Offense is so bad in the Red Zone (and not very good overall), that they were not going to win playing from behind..... and they didn't. USC easily pulled away in the 4th QTR. Then the excuse-makers said we would beat a really bad scUM team (who in reality, not the b1g, came into the game with 3 losses already including to a MAC team), but our awful defense and offense (especially in the RZ - only capable of scoring FGs) managed to melt in the 4th QTR again and a really bad scUM team using a backup QB with no experience pulled away from us in the 4th (oh yea, Campbell mismanaged our TOs on late substitutions AGAIN earlier in the half such that we really had no chance late.). Now the excuse-making FDS morons are saying the same- nonsense about Purdue - a very mediocre team, but they have 2 more b1g wins than we do! This notion that any of our remaining games are auto-wins is such laughable nonsense, it's ridiculous. We've yet to play a really good b1g team (have played a several middling b1g teams - including USC - and a really bad team, scum) and we're 0-4 -- Purdue has at least won a couple b1g games (they're 2-2 in b1g) against similarly weak-to-mediocre competition. But again, we're hearing the same bs...... we're going to win our last 5 games.... blah, blah, blah. Just more gobbledygook nonsense from the FDR crowd.
And would have made it in probably 5 or 6 of the prior 10 years he coached had it been a 12-Team Format rather than 4 (he did make the CFP Controlled Bowls those prior years which define the current 12-Team Format). Meanwhile, the Format has been expanded to 24 and Campbell & Co. aren't even sniffing competitiveness for a 24-Team Format with zero visibility as to if we ever will again! That is how far Krafty The Clown has downgraded this franchise - the most laughable part is, is that he is paying Campbell and the Roster MORE $$$ than Franklin and his teams were ever paid! Not just uncompetitive, but Krafty The Clown PAID UP to make us uncompetitive - it's just laughable that anyone would defend this utter $***show and trainwreck.
Franklin had Beaver Stadium sold out and setting attendance records. After the few games this season and seeing what a dolt Campbell is, expect to see A LOT of empty seats Barry. Empty seats = less $ to dear old state.
With Franklin the problem was Franklin. Now the problem is money

Any links to all of the people predicting that we'd beat USC and Michigan that you're referencing, or that we're "going to win our last 5 games"...I must have missed them?
And your thinking that Purdue is better than Michigan because they have a better Big Ten record today (or that Michigan is a really bad team) says a lot.
