Our offense has so far looked disorganized to say the least. I wasn’t high on this team but I was hoping our offense would look smoother like Pope’s first season. It’s not there. At least not yet.
No way this team finishes top 20 or top 5 in the sec! Florida will dog walk this team! Kentucky is in desperate need of a coach.
We are the biggest blueblood in college basketball and Pope has yet to field a roster that can win a national title. We are not even ranked in the top 20.
Pope needs to back off on the "shoot every open 3" stuff. It really needs to be in the concept if the offense. You can't just chuck up shots the way Wilkins is. He looks like Jasper Johnson out there tonight.

Those were mostly freshman dominated teams that didn’t fully gel until February or March. This is a team full of transfers that have played college for multiple years.
I don’t know how much you can take from exhibition games, but here’s my thoughts:
-The offense should be designed to get Milan at least 15-20 shots a game. He’s the best offensive guy by far.
-N’Diaye has a lot of potential. Will have good and bad moments.
-Guard depth is concerning. Mason Williams needs time. He’s going to be asked to do a lot with Morton hurt. Kam Williams will have to step up.
-I think this team isn’t great, but not horrible. Honestly gives me vibes about like last year. I don’t see the talent level for a high ceiling. Probably a round of 32 ish team. I don’t see Final 4 caliber.

What about the Cal teams that made 7 elite 8s and 4 final fours and won a title? Ur a UK fan but I never see u reference those. Interesting.

Mark Pope is what killed this seasons hope. And it started with his awful recruiting.

Popes 1st year will be his best. He got lucky with the extra Covid year so he was able to get some studs that stayed in school longer and knew how to play basketball without needing a coach.
Pope is in a tough position. But he knew this when he took the job or should have.

I sort of assume the offense is not going to be Wilkins and Diallo taking turns dribbling for twenty five seconds up top and forcing something the entire season but the prospect is frightening.
Sooo, you picked the best two teams in the country to make this point? 98% of the country doesn’t have a dude that can start over the guys those 2 teams have. Good job.
Exhibition equals refining offense/defense. I would hate to see this team "find themselves" against the likes of Duke
Watching the half time interview and the canned sacred piece of cloth answer made me gag. It really is impressive how we quickly devolved to some dorky *** joke.
For the second half I think I'll go take a **** and then wipe with a sacred piece of cloth.
Not happy with this half at all, and if Pope is satisfied or writes it off as "it's early", that's the problem. The play in this half should not be acceptable and the standard of play should be much, much higher. Wilkins should have been pulled after his 2nd very ill advised 3. Momcilovich should be getting more shots, as well as Moreno. We are not getting it into the post well at all. I really pulling for Pope, but if he doesn't start to show some fire and raise the standard of play from these guys he needs to go. The offense looks horrible. There was some good passing, but overall it was terrible. I'm okay if the talent just isn't final four level, but the coaching better be getting the best out of the talent he has.
I think this team's ceiling is a borderline top 25ish team. Floor is like bottom half of the SEC.

we shoot 35% from the floor and only have 5 offensive rebounds. not a good sign.
Honestly it gave me vibes of some of Tubby’s teams at the end. 8-12 losses. 8-9 seed type teams.
